Wakame is a fat free, cholesterol free food, rich in vitamins A and B, and essential minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium.
Atlantic wakame grows wild and is harvested by hand from pure Icelandic waters. We dry it using renewable geothermal energy to bring you the highest quality food source with a low carbon footprint.
Atlantic wakame is closely related to Japanese wakame and is also known as dabberlocks. In Icelandic, we call it marinkjarni.
Wakame has a milk flavor which blends well with other vegetables. Wakame is excellent for salads, soups, sauces, stews and casseroles, and can be wrapped around fish or savory fillings.
For best results, soak in water for 10 minutes to overnight. It can also be toasted as a snack and crumbled as a condiment. Wakame turns light green when cooked.

I like to make my own miso soup! As I am living in Singapore, you could think that Korean or Japanese wakame is easier to get. It is actually, but guess what!! IT IS NOT AS GOOD AS THIS ICELAND WAKAME. The Korean one has such fishy smell that can make you puke. This is AWESOME! Just get the Hacho Miso paste from Eden (also on iherb.com) and follow the recipe on the back of the miso paste packaging and you will cook a nice miso soup. Needless to mention that all miso paste in Singapore is full of MSG (or monosodium glutamate or ajinamoto which is a terrible chemical, cancer causing!) so EDEN miso paste is really the best!!
Soak and cook to make lovely dishes. Adding liquid coconut aminos,herb olive oil & balsamic vinegar with vegetables is delicious!

This wakame is good and I like the fact that it's not a produce of China. It has a wonderful texture and flavor. One thing I don't like about it is that the color stays brownish green even after I blanch it. I like my seaweed bright green.

I don't know much about seaweed, I have this in the miso i bought here, will buy again
