Simply Organic, Turmeric, 2.38 oz (67 g)227 Reviews
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. It is important to note that certain types of products (e.g. glass containers, liquids, fragile, refrigerated or ice packed) will often require protective packaging material. As such, these products will reflect a higher Shipping Weight compared to the unprotected product.

Turmeric's warm aroma, bright color, and gingery/peppery taste are relied upon in cooking throughout Asia. It's best known as the spice that gives curry powder its distinctive color.
Botanical name: Curcuma longa L.
The golden hue of turmeric brightens curries, condiments, and egg, fish, and grain dishes. Its taste is warmly aromatic--a bit like ginger and pepper. In India turmeric is often used to color sweet dishes, while in Morocco it's used to spice meat, (especially lamb) and vegetables. It's used with fish, in baked goods, meat and meat products, prepared mustards and pickles, broths, cheeses, dressings, grains, egg recipes, and soups. Try it with artichokes and potatoes and in rice dishes. And combine it with coriander and cinnamon for a spicy meat or poultry rub.
iHerb Customer Reviews
I like turmeric as it has many health benefits. It detoxes liver, prevents cancer growth, speeds up wound healing, helps with inflammatory skin conditions. I like adding it to lots of dishes, but my favourite one is kitchari. But beware, everything it touches turns yellow! :D If you have any plastic utensils or dishes, wash them as soon as they come in contact with turmeric! Seriously. Also, watch your kitchen counter.
This is a very good quality turmeric, I use it a lot in my cooking. It fights harmful bacteria, bad cholesterol, and disease-causing inflammation. It also improves cell communication throughout the body. It has strong inhibitive effects on cancer cells, preventing or slowing the onset as well as growth of tumors.
