Dentists recommend that you not apply heavy pressure when brushing. This can damage teeth and fray or damage toothbrush bristles. The most important factor is to consistently brush and to reach all surfaces of your teeth. Dentists recommend you replace your toothbrush every 2-3 months for optimum oral care. It is essential to replace your toothbrush immediately if it shows signs of fraying or broken bristles.
iHerb Customer Reviews
I bought two of these for my kids and I am very unhappy with them. They are certainly not "Extra-Soft", as advertised! The bristles are very stiff; I would say at least as stiff as a typical "Medium" toothbrush, if not stiffer. That is not good for anyone--considering that dentists now recommend soft or extra soft even for adults to prevent damage to gums and enamel--but especially not for children. The overall quality is good but I am very unhappy with the the stiffness of the bristles and that I have just lost $6, since I now have to replace them with bristles that are actually extra-soft.
A cloud of some kind of dust came out of the bristles when I felt them. The bristles are very stiff, not soft at all.
