The ingredients in Source Naturals Advanced Ferrochel have been shown in studies to help increase and maintain blood levels of iron, while being gentle to the stomach and colon. This product contains a form of iron that is easily absorbed and more bioavailable than other forms of iron such as ferrous sulfate. Ascorbic acid has been shown to increase the bioavailability of iron. Vitamin B-12 and folic acid have been added for additional support.
1 tablet daily. For use by adults only. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Dibasic calcium phosphate, stearic acid, modified cellulose gum, and colloidal silicon dioxide
Suitable for vegetarians

|Folate (as Folic acid)||200 mcg||50%|
|Vitamin B-12 (as methylcobalamin)||60 mcg||960%|

|†Chelate covered by Albion International, Inc., U.S. Patent 4,830,716 and 4,599,152.|
This is a convenient way to increase iron intake if your diet is lacking. The form is ferrous bis-glycinate chelate, easily absorbed. A word of caution - the tablet of 27 mg is significantly greater than the recommended daily value of 18 mg and the body excretes excess iron poorly. I use 1/2 tab/day.
Gave me a stomach ache

I had to stop using this product, sadly it gave me a terrible stomach ache. Not just after taking it, it was 24/7. I now use prescription syrup with no problems.

These are a great price, however I believe them to be constipating. Since taking them my eliminations are less smooth, frequent and comfortable and have been taking triphala to keep things moving. Am persevering to see if ferritin rises and will edit this review in a couple of months. These are in tablet form and uncoated so there is an unpleasant taste while you have them in the mouth and swallow and on an empty tum they can cause a slight nausea. In all likelihood I will seek to change brands when I run out of these.

I had had problem with low level of ferritin, tried prescribed iron but my levels rises just a little and then stopped. With this advanced ferrochel it's going up gradually. It takes time but I am very satisfied with the effect. I take 2 tablets daily. I don't have any problems with stomach or else. I can recommend.
