Starwest Botanicals, Organic Astragalus Root, Cut & Sifted, 1 lb4 Reviews
Expiration Date: Jan 2016
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
Shipping Weight: 1.18 lbs (0.54 kg)
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. It is important to note that certain types of products (e.g. glass containers, liquids, fragile, refrigerated or ice packed) will often require protective packaging material. As such, these products will reflect a higher Shipping Weight compared to the unprotected product.

In Chinese medicine it has been historically used to promote healing and reduce fatigue.
You can utilize sliced Astragalus root whole, cut and sifted or in a powder. A tea is commonly used to promote digestion. The tea can be made from the dried astragalus root. Starwest Botanicals offers whole sliced Astragalus Root, a cut and sifted form and astragalus powder for ease of use.
When used appropriately, astragalus herb and extract appears to be safe and to have few side effects. However, as with any herbal supplement, always check with your health care provider before taking astragalus root. Pregnant or nursing women should not use astragalus root, as research has not verified its effects.
iHerb Customer Reviews
for all Astragalus tea fans out there: this plant is amazing for a daily use all year.tastes great and good for your immune system. whenever i take it i can immediately feel a mild calm in the back of my head, something that i don't get at all from the astragalus extracts whether its the high polysaccharides powder or the liquid, only in tea from the plant as it is.the Starwest root is the smallest root type i have tried yet and i noticed its less potent than the big old roots i got before, this means you would have to use almost twice as much root to get the same taste and potency as when you use the bigger root slices,i use 12g from this one for a cup of tea as oppose to 6 to 9 grams from the bigger root, this is why i gave it only 4 stars but still its the natural organic plant and i do get a great feeling with it so compared to the price paid which is less than all other brands it is still worth the price, would pay a little more for the bigger root slices...you are welcome to rate & read my other reviews
Tiny and smoke roots; not at all aromatics and sweet as Astragalus root suppose to be. The tea tasted very weak and smoky. Low quality product; will not repurchase.
