Starwest Botanicals, Organic Irish Moss Cut & Sifted, 16 oz (1 lb)5 Reviews
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.

Sea Vegetables From Starwest Botanicals
There are many nutritious vegetables that actually grow in the oceans around the world. As long as these special marine plants can reach sunlight for photosynthesis to occur, they are able to survive in the salt water conditions. Starwest Botanicals is pleased to offer a wide range of sea vegetables for your consideration.
Irish Moss is a sea moss which is a type of red algae containing a high percentage of carrageenan, which is a thickener used in food preparation as well as in beer brewing.
iHerb Customer Reviews
Cut and sifted seems to mean that you need to spend a considerable amount of time washing out sand and shells out of the stuff, since the pieces are so small it's hard to distinguish between the actual stuff and dirt. I've seen Irish moss around the same price that are larger chunks and easier to wash, so I'll go for those next time. Other than that it works fine, though.
Dont really know how to use this shredded moss.. it's also pretty dark by its colour. it's impossible to rinse with water after soaking.. and the smell is sooo bad without rinsing. So dont buy this unless you know exactly how to use this shredded version.
