The Importance of Soluble Fiber

Soluble fiber will dissolve in liquid – inside or outside the body – but it is not metabolized by the body. Nevertheless, soluble fiber is important for optimum digestion because it helps supply food for the beneficial bacteria that live in the digestive tract. Inulin has been shown in numerous studies to promote the growth of these beneficial microorganisms, allowing them to crowd out detrimental organisms such as E. coli. Benefits of a positive change in digestive micro‑flora include improved immune function and general digestive health. Inulin, apple pectin, and prune powder are excellent sources of soluble fiber.

The Importance of Insoluble Fiber

Regular consumption of insoluble fiber is important for optimal digestive health because it promotes a natural laxative effect by adding bulk to the diet, helping prevent constipation. Because insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water it passes through the GI tract relatively intact, speeding up the passage of food and waste through the gut. Oat fiber is an excellent source of insoluble fiber.

Prior to embarking on a detoxification program it is important to achieve optimal bowel function. MediBulk can speed transit time in the bowel and bind toxins released into the intestines from the liver, preventing their reabsorption.

HypoAllergenic. Multiple Fibers = Multiple Benefits. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Different fibers have different benefits, and this is a great combo: Apple, Prune, Oat and Inulin. Mixes well. Psyllium FREE. Inhaled Psyllium is very bad for people who have asthma or allergies. Thorne fibers are safe to inhale. Psyllium comes from India, would you trust that country? //Click YES if I was of any benefit.

Great fiber supplement!

Posted by Reviewer1794033 on Aug 15, 2013

I have a j-pouch and bulking fiber is my friend :) I've tried all the fibers out there: acacia, apple pectin, apple fiber, glucomannan, chia, flax, psyllium powder and whole husk, etc...and MediBulk is awesome. Taking just psyllium is very difficult for me but the combo of apple pectin, prune and psyllium is magic. Mix this will a little slippery elm bark and it's even better. Great taste as well. Don't let the price discourage you, this portion last a long time. When I have a choice, I always order Thorne products. They are VERY High Quality. Their GI-Encap is great too.

GREAT PRODUCT

Posted by Reviewer1129303 on Sep 02, 2009

My German Shepherd has irritable bowel syndrome. As part of his routine, I faithfully use Medibulk. It not only bulks up loose stools, it has other ingredients that help support the digestive system. I am very happy with this product.

Great fiber source.

Posted by Reviewer1417983 on Dec 25, 2009

Medibulk makes it simple to increase my daily fiber intake. It easily blends with liquids which makes it easy to take, each small scoop provides EIGHT grams of fiber, and it doesn't taste foul! I'm very happy with this fiber supplement.
