Blood tests are the proof - this DEFINITELY works!,

After discovering that my 25-hydroxy Vitamin D (the proper blood test for vitamin D status) was critically low (23.6 ng/ml), I first experimented with sun bathing 30 minutes every day at noon in Southern California summer -- with no appreciable effect after six weeks.
However, I was then exercising and showering immediately afterwards which (no kidding) can "wash out" the cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) formed by the sun's UVB interaction with our skin's 7-dehydrocholesterol. So sun bathing, which was really never an option for me long term, was out.
Having researched the need for Vitamin D, I decided to begin supplementing with THIS excellent and economical 5,000 IU Vitamin-D.
I waited until receiving my first updated blood test results before writing this review: After 6 weeks of taking TWO of these per day (10,000 IU/day -- so twice the label-recommended dosage) my blood test results from two days ago was 58.9 ng/ml.
I plan to drop back down to a single "little drop of sunshine" per day soon. I was only 'double dosing" to get the levels up and to see where they would go. You DEFINITELY don't want to take too much, so follow the label unless you're keeping a close eye on your blood levels, as I am.
But rest assured that this is a terrific Vitamin-D. :)

Most important supplement,

If I was to take only one supplement, this would be it! Great for mood, energy and joints. The price for these is amazingly low and being able to get 5k in one small softgel suits me..

I was diagnosed recently with a Vitamin D deficiency,and found that in Australia I could only get Vitamin D in a 1000 i.u.dosage.I came across the iHerb site and ordered this product as it was in the dosage I required, contained a large amount of capsules, and was far cheaper than anything Australia had to offer.I couldn't believe that iHerb had such a wide range of competitively priced products and needless to say, I will be ordering from iHerb again.

usually it is hard to find a high dosage of vitamin D (I used to work in the osteoporosis field before) and I'm glad that I could find such a pill !!! For winter in Europe it is quite enough to make a few month cure.
