Suggested Use

Chef David Cordua's

Mini Spiced Stout Cakes

1 cup stout beer
1 cup WS Organic Molasses
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
2 cups unbleached flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp ginger, ground
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
1/4 tsp clove, ground
1/2 tsp grated orange zest
3 organic cage free eggs
1 cup WS Organic Light Brown Sugar
1 cup WS Organic Sugar
3/4 cup vegetable oil

Method: Preheat oven to 350F. In a medium sauce pan bring stout beer and molasses to a boil. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Once mixture has cooled add baking soda. In a mixing bowl combine eggs, both sugars, and vegetable oil. Sift together flour, baking powder and aromatic spices. Combine beer and molasses mixture with egg mixture and slowly incorporate remaining dry ingredients. Prepare a muffin tin with cooking spray and dust with flour, removing excess flour. Pour cake batter in each muffin tin filling up 3/4 of each tin. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Product good, but poor packaging

Posted by 5588855114333258267 on Jun 18, 2016

The product is good, but packaging is poor as it leaked whilst in transit. When I received it, the bottle had leaked in the plastic bag and was all over the bottle. I had to wipe it all down, which was sticky and took time.

I use this in baking and also just drink it mixed in milk. It's really dark and thick-- love it!
