Andean Dream Quinoa Cookies
A healthy alternative snack!
Quinoa [chenopodium quinoa willd] has been enjoyed as an important food crop in the Andes for more than 6,000 years. More precious than gold, this powerhouse grain has now been re-discovered by the world marketplace because of its delicious flavor and high nutritional value.
Classified as a 'supercrop' by the United Nations for its high protein content, quinoa contains a balanced set of essential amino acids, making it an unusually complete food.
We've spun this healthy, golden grain into our Andean Dream Quinoa Cookies, made with organic Royal Quinoa, which is grown only in the Bolivian Andes, at an altitude of 13,000 feet, which produces the finest quality quinoa in the world.
Quinoa is delicious and nutritious, rich in high quality proteins, vitamins and minerals, and essential amino acids necessary for optimal nutrition.
Quinoa has been selected by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as one of the crops that will play an important role in ensuring food security around the world in the 21st century. The National Academy of Sciences of the United States has rated quinoa as the most nourishing grain in the world.
We have packed our cookies for you in individual convenient single serving packets. Perfect to grab for a quick snack, and for school lunches and backpacks!
Andean Dream purchases its Royal Quinoa from indigenous farming family groups at fair trade prices, which contribute to positive economic changes for these families.
Organic royal quinoa flour, tapioca flour, non-hydrogenated palm fruit oil, sugar cane juice, raw sugar, organic dark chocolate chips (soy free), brown sugar, rice flour, Quinoa pop grains, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and natural vanilla extract.
Manufacturer recommends storage at room temperature.

Oh my gosh these are so so yummy!! Each cookie comes individually wrapped (that way you can keep one in your bag at all times!)The do fall apart a little when you bite into them but you expect that from a gluten free food, and there are plenty of choc chips inside.
I've never had quinoa before, but they were rated as a bestseller- so I thought I'd try them to get some of that fiber I'm lacking. THEY WERE AMAZING- they're very earthy, but chocolatey. They lasted about two weeks as well (considering must gluten free food is packaged with very little inside) and the calories for 2 cookies are great for those who are on diets!
The Andeans must be dreaming...

Tried these cookies...they're ok. A bit dry and mediocre but eatable for those times the plane crashes in the snow topped mountains in South America somewhere. Eatable not delectable...in case of plane crash you have a very difficult choice...cannibalism or quinoa?

These cookies are delicious: my favourite glutenfree cookies so far. It's a big plus that they are made from natural and (relatively) healthy ingredients. Love them!
