Bob's Red Mill Wheat Bran is an excellent source of natural food fiber.
Diets rich in whole grain foods and other plant foods low in total fat, saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers.
Bob's Wheat Bran - the outer layer of the wheat berry - is used to add extra fiber to baked goods. When added to one of our favorite breads, it nearly becomes a meal in itself.

Bob's High Fiber Bran Muffins
- 1 cup Bob's Red Mill Wheat Bran
- 1 1/2 cups Bob's Red Mill Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/2 cup Raisins
- 1 tsp. Baking Powder
- 1 tsp. Soda
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Molasses or Honey
- 2 Tbsp. Oil
- 1 Egg, beaten
Stir together: bran, flour, soda and baking powder. Then stir in raisins and set aside. Blend milk, molasses, oil and egg. Add to dry ingredients and stir Just Until Moistened. Spoon into greased muffin tins and bake in preheated 400° oven for 15 minutes or until muffins pull away from sides of cups. Make 12 marvelous muffins! I like to add 1/2 cup applesauce and 1/4 cup of chopped nuts when I make this recipe for our guest.
