The Coconut Secret Story
When both our parents learned they were diabetic, my brother and I were deeply inspired to search the world for pure, raw, truly delicious, low glycemic foods. We were rewarded and blessed beyond our expectations, in our discovery of the traditional products made from the sap of the wondrous coconut tree. It is our great joy to be able to share with you the gifts of these exceptional ingredients. —Leslie and Randy
Health Secrets of Coconut Aminos
When the coconut tree is tapped it produces a highly nutrient-rich "sap" that exudes from the coconut blossoms. This sap is very low glycemic, an abundant source of 17 amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and has a nearly neutral pH. A comparison between coconut tree sap and soy, shows that coconut sap contains 2-14 times the amino acid content of soy.
Our organic, Coconut Aminos made from this pure sap, is naturally aged with sun dried, mineral-rich sea salt, that is hand gathered from pristine waters near the southern islands of the Philippine coast, and contains only 113 mg of sodium per teaspoon.
Soy-Free Seasoning alternative for use like soy sauce in salad dressings, marinades, sautés, and with sushi! This delicious product does not have a coconutty flavor.
Organic coconut tree sap aged and blended with sun-dried, mineral-rich sea salt.
Note: Due to the naturally occurring fermentation of this product, the contents my fizz when opened.
Refrigerate after opening.

Coconut Secret Raw Organic Coconut Aminos 237 ml Great on salads, pasta, meat, fish, especially sushi The Coconut Secret Vinegar is also very good and highly rich in vitamins, minerals and 17 amino acids. # Certified 100% Organic # GLUTEN-FREE # SOY-FREE # 17 Naturally Occurring AMINO ACIDS # Special Sun Dried, Mineral-Rich SEA SALT # DAIRY-FREE # VEGAN Coconut Aminos vs. Soy-based sauces Among the many nutritional benefits of the Coconut Aminos product, the most notable is its impressive amino acid content compared to soy-based sauces. Commonly described as the "building blocks of protein," amino acids are vitally important to human health. They contribute to the repair and rebuilding of muscle tissue, help to enhance overall brain and nervous system funciton, and assist in boosting the immune system and physical energy levels. Second only to water protein is on of the most important substances in our bodies which is why it is nutritionally beneficial to consume a diet that is rich in amino acids. A comparison between coconut tree sap and soy, shows that coconut sap contains up to 14 times the amino acid content of soy. Many soy sauces on the market are fermented by first soaking the soybeans in water and salt, and then adding specific cultures of molds, yeasts and bacteria to help catalyze the fermentation process. Coconut Aminos is made from coconut tree sap, which comes right out of the tree so vital, active and alive nutrients, that is only blending with our own sun dried mineral-rich sea salt and aged, without the need for a fermentation booster or added water. As well, the majority of conventional soy sauces on the market are made with non-organic, genetically modified (GMO) soybeans. Long term use of unfermented soy related products has led to an increase in soy allergies, a disruption in proper thyroid function, and an overload of estrogens in the body.
I was a bit skeptical when I read the reviews here.. I've never heard of coconut aminos as soy sauce before, coming from an Asian family, it's a bit weird too. WELL! I'm blown away by how similar this is to the usual soy sauce that we consume. Because Monsanto built its base here in our country I've never trusted local soy products (GMO anyone?) I'm absolutely thrilled and will continue using this as a permanent replacement for soy sauce! Thanks, iHerb for carrying the product.

This is a great sauce if you want something on your salads or food for a subtle flavoring, it is not overpowering at all, unless you put a lot of it. I confess I sometimes wanted a stronger flavor and had to put a bit more than normal. It does not have a coconuty flavor and it's like a liquid, not really a sauce, more like a very watery sauce. Would have been nice to be thicker.

I bought this to use as an alternative to soy sauce to reduce the sodium content for my baby. We like it, but I think I prefer soy sauce.
Perfect replacement for soy sauce.

This is a great alternative to soy or teriyaki sauce as it has significantly less sodium. Perfect as is, or as a component in a peanut sauce. Use it to saute veggies without oil. I much prefer this over Braggs Liquid Aminos which is essentially chemical sludge whereas coconut aminos is the result of a fermentation process.
Did the texture change?

I have been ordering this for ages and it's my favorite due to the thicker texture. However my last bottle is very thin liquid like the other brands. I'm so disappointed! What happened?
