L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid (protein building block) in human nutrition. Essential amino acids are not synthesized by the body and must be obtained in the diet. The L-tryptophan in this product is manufactured and tested for purity according to the Japanese Pharmacopeia (JP) and the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards.
Adult Use: Take 1 or 2 capsules daily, or as directed by a health practitioner. For optimum absorption, take separately from protein-containing foods and dietary supplements containing protein or amino acids.

It's been awhile since I've taken the time to write a review, but I had to for this. I ordered this as a freebie to an order and have taken it 2 nights in a row after running out of my melatonin (Source Naturals 2.5 mg peppermint). It's now 4:00 am and I just unloaded the dishwasher! Not helping with sleep whatsoever, in fact it was hard to even fall asleep which I normally don't have a problem with, and I will not be taking these again (I thought maybe last night not sleeping was a fluke and decided to give them a 2nd chance). Can't wait for my melatonin to arrive!!

Makes you noshes and helps you sleep. Haven't had in long enough to check is there any effects on seratonin production and the mood in general.

I have used this product for over two years now for chronic fatigue symptoms caused by IBS. A true game changer for me!! I take them with C-vitamin (important!) before bedtime and wake up feeling energized. Awesome product!

I have tried many different brands of L-Tryptophan over the years but this one has stuck with me. I have several things going on which really inhibit my ability to relax or sleep. I begin taking these an hour or two before actually going to bed. I usually take one and then another about an hour later along with other things - sometimes Valerian (liquid) and sometimes 5htp. Within about fifteen or twenty minutes of going to bed, I can actually fall asleep. Such relief!
