The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.

Cooking Instructions: Microwave for best results.
Microwave Cooking Directions: Remove flavor packet and pour contents into cup. Add Cool water to fill line inside cup (about 2 1/2" above bottom of cup). Stir. Microwave on High (100% power) for 2 minutes. Remove from microwave and stir. Microwave on Low (20% power) for 5 minutes. Stir and enjoy.
No Microwave? Remove flavor packet & pour contents into cup. Add boiling water to fill line (about 2 1/2" above bottom of cup). Stir well. Cover and let stand about 8 minutes until tender and sauce thickens.

I did not know instant food could taste this good! And I have been in the militarily and tasted a lot of instant food in the fields. Next time I will buy mor than one ;)
I liked the idea of the product: just add boiling water (or microwave it) and you're ready to eat. But I found it way too salty and it left me craving for more food and something sweet afterwards.
