How do the oats in Cheerios cereal work
Step #1- Cheerios is made with oats that contain soluble fiber, known as Beta Glucan.
Step #2- Once Cheerios is digested it is thought that Beta Glucan mixes with water to form a gel.
Step#3- That gel can help naturally remove some cholesterol from the body.
This only one of several ways that foods containing soluble fiber are thought to help in lowering cholesterol.
Cheerios helps lower cholesterol as part of a heart healthy diet.*
*Studies show that three grams of soluble fiber daily from whole grain oat foods, like Cheerios cereal, in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. Cheerios cereal provides 1 gram per serving.
