Gelatin is the purified protein derived by the selective hydrolysis of collagen from the skin, the connective tissue and/or bones of animals. Great Lakes Gelatin provides you with the highest types of pure unflavored edible gelatins. It is available in type A (porcine), or type B (bovine or bone). This consumer package represents a special grade of gelatin that meets the specifications set forth by the U.S. Pharmacopeia, regulated by National Formulary. All grades of gelatin are prepared under the most rigid sanitary conditions.
Gelatin is an excellent source of protein, and cannot be recovered from hoofs, horn or non-collagen parts of vertebrate animals. There are no plant sources of gelatin.
Recommended daily dosage is two level tablespoons. Take one tablespoon before or during breakfast, and one before or during dinner. To help curb appetite, take before meals.

I have only just discovered iHerb & am so impressed. Great Lakes gelatin is, in my opinion, the best gelatin on the market. It's hard to find in Australia & extremely overpriced. Having discovered iHerb I got 3 jars for the price I would pay for 1 in Australia & it arrived within 3 working days, which is the same amount of time it takes me to receive a local delivery from an online retailer. Couldn't be happier :)

The collagen from the same brand is amazing, so I thought I'd try the gelatin. It also is great! I made coconut jelly by simply mixing stevia, vanilla, coconut milk and a bit of this gelatin and it turned out to be a luxuriously creamy dessert. I definitely recommend this gelatin to anyone looking for a superior, natural source.

People nowadays are way to picky when it comes to meat. We only eat the finest muscle pieces, with every last bit of fat and connective tissue cut off. Everything else gets thrown away, even do offal and soft tissue is where the nutrition is. If you consume only muscle meat, I would highly recommend drinking homemade broth made of bones, or a hot cup of water with this gelatin added to it. This product will benefit your whole body. Everything from the gut to the skin, hair and nails will get a boost from this. And this is also from a high quality source! If you liked my my review, please "recommend it".
Health benefits from real food instead of synthetic supplements.

I use both the Collagen (red can) and Collagen Hydrolysate (green can). I make homemade Jello with this and I use it in a no gluten pumpkin par I make. I use the green can, Collagen Hydrolysate in my coffee and smoothies because it doesn't gel. I buy because it is a convenient way to get bone broth and all the health benefits. "Collagen is important for skin and bone health. As well as supplying the important amino acids for collagen stores in your body, gelatin and hydrolyzed collagen also have gut-healing benefits that might be even more important from a health perspective. Because most of the health benefits of collagen/gelatin come from the amino acids, it’s likely that for most people, the benefits will be the same whether you’re getting hydrolyzed collagen or gelatin."
This product has great features.
