Gelatin is the purified protein derived by the selective hydrolysis of collagen from the skin, the connective tissue and/or bones of animals. Great Lakes Gelatin provides you with the highest types of pure unflavored edible gelatins. It is available in type A (porcine), or type B (bovine or bone). This consumer package represents a special grade of gelatin that meets the specifications set forth by the U.S. Pharmacopeia, regulated by National Formulary. All grades of gelatin are prepared under the most rigid sanitary conditions.
Gelatin is an excellent source of protein, and cannot be recovered from hoofs, horn or non-collagen parts of vertebrate animals. There are no plant sources of gelatin.
Recommended daily dosage is two level tablespoons. Take one tablespoon before or during breakfast, and one before or during dinner. To help curb appetite, take before meals.

One tablespoon gels one pint of liquid.

I have only just discovered iHerb & am so impressed. Great Lakes gelatin is, in my opinion, the best gelatin on the market. It's hard to find in Australia & extremely overpriced. Having discovered iHerb I got 3 jars for the price I would pay for 1 in Australia & it arrived within 3 working days, which is the same amount of time it takes me to receive a local delivery from an online retailer. Couldn't be happier :)

I put this gelatin in gluten free baking to add protein and thicken it without gums. My kids love it in pancakes in the morning!

This product is also good but I prefer the hydrolysate as it is easier to mix in your beverage. When I add this to my coffee some are soluble some became crump jelly n I had to loosen it.

Doctor's Best Best Collagen is collagen so I expect it to be treated less harshly than gelatin, it doesn't cause sinus congestion like this gelatin.

The collagen from the same brand is amazing, so I thought I'd try the gelatin. It also is great! I made coconut jelly by simply mixing stevia, vanilla, coconut milk and a bit of this gelatin and it turned out to be a luxuriously creamy dessert. I definitely recommend this gelatin to anyone looking for a superior, natural source.
