Road to Health

I believe you will find the supplements I take and recommend to be of great benefit to your health. I have spent the past 3 years researching health. Especially with regards to those like me suffering due to long term medication use such as benzodiazepines and various seizure medications which I've been on for around 24 years now...trying to get free of them. Without the grace of God and the extensive research I've been able to do during this most difficult time in my life, I don't think I would be alive now to tell you about it. For those of you out there who are not messed up from taking bad medications, do your research on healthy diet, lifestyle, and supplementation instead of relying on meds that will only hurt you in the long run. I hope you find the products I've chosen and use and the comments I've made on them of great help. Take care... JC

Awesome Enzymes and NO Bromelain

Posted on Dec 16, 2013

By far, the best enzymes supplement I have tried. Bromelain can cause problems for those on certain medications by increasing the effects of medications and in other ways (do the research). This may not be safe for some people. Either way, I've found this digestive supplement to help me with digestion and bowels more than any other i've tried and without the bromelain. Source Naturals also makes one WITH bromelain for those who need not worry about their digestive enzyme supplement effecting the level and/or effectiveness of their medication. Five stars!

HCI NEEDED FOR TO PREVENT NUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES AND DISEASE

Posted on Dec 16, 2013

Stomach acid has many benefits. Our stomach's produce acid so that we can get the "usable" forms of vitamins and nutrients from our food and from the vitamins we take. Betain HCI is needed for many many functions within the body. I did the research and our stomach's perform multiple functions that are critical to health and HCI is a very important link for those who know they are low on stomach acid production. Lack of this acid opens us up to disease and malnutrition among many other things (like h pylori and vitamin deficiencies). Just be sure you really need it. Most functional med docs can tell by looking at your blood work, but there is also a test out there to accurately measure stomach acid levels.

GREAT PRICE FOR BOTH METHYLCOBALAMIN AND DIBENCOZIDE

Posted on Dec 16, 2013

This is the best price I've seen for a B12 sublingual that has both methylcobalamin and dibencozide (active forms) of B12. Highly recommend.

LIKE THE LIQUID

Posted on Dec 16, 2013

I like this liquid Methylcobalamin because you don't have to wait for the sublingual to dissolve and can just put some drops under the tongue.

BEST B12 I USE (ALL NATURAL, NON-SYNTHETIC)

Posted on Dec 16, 2013

My favorite B12 supplement and also works well for my friend who just recently started taking it and told me that she feels more calm and clear minded. I've been trying this form of B12 as I have long term severe B12 deficiency caused by long term use of anticonvulsants. It's the only other B12 supplement Dr. Clement recommends besides his own B12 supplement as far as B12 goes. I'm curious as to which form of B12 is in this supplement? Is it cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin or hydroxycobalamin, or debencozide? I know cyanocobalamin is the most commonly used form of B12 that needs the IF cofactor that is supposed to be provided by our body to convert the cyanocobalamin form into the methylcobalim or "active" form of B12 that is supposed to bypass the digestive conversion complications involved with people lacking this IF factor to convert it. I'm also aware that the liver is supposed to store the B12 and use as needed. So we are looking at many factors with B12. I'm assuming that since this comes in a capsule, instead of sublingual form that it is cyanocobalamin. I've heard conflicting reports about the usability of cyanocobalamin since many people lack the IF factor. I wish the US would start selling the injectible forms of B12 without a rx from a doctor for those severely deficient and symptomatic. An aweseome documentary came out in 2011 explaining everything there is to know about how to diagnose and treat B12 deficiency and how our blood serum levels are NOT proof of how severe our deficiencies can be and many are paying in the long term due to lack of knowledge on this MOST IMPORTANT vitamin. The video is on youtube and is called "Diagnosing and Treating Vitamin B12 Deficiency"...a MUST WATCH...it's just under an hour long. A real eye opener for me.

Healthiest Cinnamon (Low in Oxilates) - THE BEST CINNAMON FOR YOU

Posted on Apr 23, 2013

I just recently learned that not all cinnamon is good for you in generous amounts. Especially chinese or saigon etc. cinnamon that is dark and strong. According to nutritionfacts.org, Dr. Gregor compares the oxilate content in cinnamons and through actual studies done, it was proven that the only cinnamon that did not have a negative effect due to high oxilate content was the Ceylong Cinnamon....in short, if you eat lots of cinnamon on a regular basis, Ceylon is the only way to go. I like to put mine on mashed sweet potatoes for a sweet cinnamon flavor.

Nice Thin Floss

Posted on Apr 23, 2013

I like this floss because it is thin and requires less effort to get between the teeth. Good price, too. I like that iHerb has these personal "odds and ends" items and not just vitamins.

Smells Wonderful

Posted on Apr 23, 2013

I like this product because it smells fantastic (fresh and sweet and natural) not a fake smell. I also like that it has beeswax in it. The price is the best price I've seen on a good brand of lip balm. I've had great service with iHerb. As long as I don't open the package, they have been very cooperative in taking things back so I can exchange it for something else if I made a mistake in choosing an item that I come to realize through more research won't work for me. This is good customer service.

PROTEIN, FIBER, and FATTY ACIDS

Posted on Dec 04, 2013

Pumpkin seeds are a good source of minerals and fat and protein. Also very good when added to a fresh salad. Digestive enzymes and probiotics can help with breaking down nutrients and making them more digestible and more easily absorbed into the body.

i like Jarrow

Buffered C is great because it won't upset your stomach, but I don't believe extremely high doses of vitamin C are necessary as some do. I take it on occasion to help soften my stools. Vitamin C also may help with B vitamins for those with MILD adrenal fatigue.

Good Price, Reliable Product, + Some Advice

Posted on Dec 04, 2013

Multi Vitamins usually contain this stuff because it helps your body utilize all the other vitamins. It is a good idea to take this potassium especially if you don't take a multi vitamin and prefer to buy individual vitamins of higher quality and usability. Just be careful not to take too much potassium as this may lower blood pressure (if you already have low blood pressure) but fruits and vegetables are a great source of potassium (tomatoes, bananas, dates, greens, etc.)

active form of b6

Posted on Apr 23, 2013

These vitamins are effective and get into your system and the pills can be cut into small pieces and lower doses are still effective. B6 helps produce melatonin and can't help you fall asleep...especially when taken in this form.
