Yum! Everyone loves it
Have bought this for a couple of years (previously at bricks&mortar store, now online as living in Korea). Always good. Easy & quick to make and tastes great - very chocolate-y. It keeps lovely and moist for about 4 days (not had any left longer than that, to know if it stays moist any lonter!) It is quite dense, so if you like "fluffy" cakes, this is not for you. It has been eaten with relish by celiacs and non-celiacs alike.
Recipe changed - bread very dense, dry and not good flavour
Posted by 5337652482377838413 on Jul 09, 2014
Very disappointed in this bread. Although the product was introduced as 'new', it had in fact been offered previously by iHerb, then discontinued about 4-6 months ago. Packaging looked the same, so I happily ordered a few boxes. However the ingredients have been changed, NOT to be better. I didn't notice the difference until I emptied the mix into the bread machine; still hoped for the best, but knew when the bread came out of the machine that it was very different. When I cut the loaf it looked very dense and dry - confirmed by my husbnd (celiac) when he had sandwiches at work which he threw in the bin ( with a message to me of 'what happened to the bread?'.) I salvaged the rest of the loaf for breadcrumbs, but will not be using any of the other packages. Why oh why was the recipe changed? Was it really tested on the general public before going into production? I Do NOT recommend this bread - will be sticking to King Arthur Gluten Free Bread mix, which although more expensive is well worth the extra money.
best gluten free flour mix tried so far
This is the best ready-mixed gluten free flour I've tried - used in batter for fish (British style fried fish & chips), coating for fish or meat, cakes and muffins.
best gluten free pasta tasted so far
Taste is good - very close to wheat pasta. Pasta holds together very well for hot or cold dishes (e.g. pasta salad). Needs cooking for a bit longer than says on the packet, but only a couple of minutes. Have already reordered and expect this to be a regular shopping list item.
good taste; almost too crunchy
good taste, good flake size, but extremely crunchy - "too" crunchy for my celiac husband's taste. Other than that, a good alternative for gluten free breakfast cereals.
good taste, does not go mushy
pasta has a good taste; did not go to pieces after cooking (able to use in pasta salad). However, not the best tasting pasta, in our opinion - prefer Orgran buckwheat or Bionaturae gluten free.
not as good as King Arthur's mixed gluten free flour
Used this for batter for fish (British style fried fish & chips); did not like the consistency or taste. Much "stronger" flavour (more distinctive) than other flours. Will not be using the rest of the flour. I would recommend King Arthur multi purpose gluten free flour instead (for batter / dusting meats / cakes / muffins).
great taste and crunch
very tasty and good crunch - so different from many "bland" gluten free cereals. Will be ordering again.
great for muesli bars
have used this product for a couple of years. Quality always good. Use to make gluten free muesli bars (Nigella Lawson recipe www.nigella.com/recipes/view/breakfast-bars-55); always very popular with celiacs and non-celiacs alike.
good quality - great risotto every time
Good quality rice - no need to wash (which you're not supposed to with rice for risotto) or filter through to remove "bad" kernels, dust etc. Perfect risotto every time (did not use the recipe on the package, but tried a number of different savoury recipes from internet and all tasted great). 4 stars only due to price, which seems high - but as product not available in S.Korean supermarkets, great to be able to order via iHerb.
great flavour, but unable to keep pizza from becoming soggy
Posted by 5337652482377838413 on Mar 12, 2013
easy to prepare (no yeast/rising to worry about). Very tasty flavour dough and where it remained crispy it was great, but most of the pizza was soggt. Cooked as per instructions first time, then second time cooked base longer to cook thoroughly, but still was soggy once toppings added and pizza ready to eat. Didn't happen with other glutenfree pizzas I tried (so don't think I'm adding too much sauce/cheese etc). Real shame, as the taste of the dough itself really is good.
