My Reviews

toxic

Posted by beafawcett on Jan 07, 2013

I tried this because it was suggested it was a not toxic product, safe adn easy to use. It was simple, mixing from two bottles and then applying direct. The first complaint I have is colour. I bought something described as 'dark blonde'. where I come from my hair is now an attractive mid-brown. Not a big problem, but a silly error and no need for it. It does mean that regrowth to my natural dark blonde will be annoyingly visible. My biggest complaint is the problem of toxicity. Whatever it is that this product contains made me pretty sick. I washed my hair for three days after use, adding bi-card to the shampoo and cider vinegar as a final rinse. After that the irritation stopped, but the nausea took a couple more days. For anyone who is genuinely sensitve to unexpected chemicals this product should be avoided. It may be okay for those who are simply trying to reduce their overall exposure. In future I will stick to plain henna

Dangerous for me

Posted by beafawcett on Feb 11, 2016

i found that this product contains over 7000% of the RDA of thiamine. I also found it is possible get thiamine toxicity, which I did. i have used other Thoren products with lower amounts of these Vitamins. It seems absurd to have such huge doses in a single capsule, which made me VERY SICK. I really think this product has significant dangers and would suggest people be very careful about using it. It seesm to have been produced with the nonsensical idea that more is always better. seriously not happy.

i need gluathione as i live with me and much of my system is depleted. others use the liposomal form or IV infusions. I find i get a benefit from these capsules which is easier and cheaper. it does give me a bit of a detox reaction [mostly runny nose] so i limit to to every second or third day. it is part of a recovery protocol i have developed which has made lots of [good] difference for me.

shelf staple

Have used this for years. It is a good genereal skin tonic which I use after washing each day on my face and throat. It helps with irritated eyes when hayfever season strikes- just as an external wipe I must emphasise. It is helpful to dress wounds for me and the dog. It is also good to clean itchy skin from allergic reactions or psoriasis. They won't want me to say this but I have found I can get a good effect by diluting this by about one in four or even five with water. It still seems to have al its benefits and goes a lot further

A great help

Posted by beafawcett on Mar 20, 2015

I have had gut issues for years which i have managed primarily with probiotics. Within a week this product had settled my gut function and after a month i tapered off my dose and still have good gut health I did find [and this is just my experience] that i was help by using sacchramyses boulardia once my gut was stable. It seemed then I was able to fight some long sttled bugs which also seem now to be gone. Really helpful. I will keep pack on hand but maybe not needed. And i do still use a probiotic, but less frequently and a less expensive brand.

basic

As I now learn I likely have MTHFR snp, this is an excellent basic vitamin supplement. Probably going to become a lifetime friend. The active folate is so important, especially as I age.

good for me

Posted by beafawcett on Jun 13, 2014

This has been an excellent product for me. I have long term ME and am searching for ways to build my strength. This has helped significantly. It is like an energy pill in the morning. It allows me to take a higher dose of B12 as well. I can sometimes take 200mg but it seems too much for every day. maybe i will find that changes. these have been another step towards recovery for me. I had taken ubiquinone for some years but it had no discernible benefit. Given my age and illness this is not surprising. this and magnesium {Thompsons Ultra Magnesium which I wish iherb would stock} and B12 have been the most useful nutrients for me. i have found that I cannot take these in the evening. They are a stimulant for me and I don't sleep if I take them at night. But as morning boost they are wonderful and as a result I am able to begin building some of my wasted muscle tissue. and so glad they are soy free .

Lovely

Rose hip oil is a really good skin treatment and these little tubes are a good way to get it. I wondered if the pump action would result in a lot of waste, but on checking I found there was little left once the pump stopped delivering. It is a nice quality of oil and happily organic. I have found them a good little gift too as they are so inexpensive. Each bottle lasts me about 6 weeks; I use only two dollops each night.

can't take it

Posted by beafawcett on May 03, 2015

I bought this to use as a 'methyl mop' when using methylfolate. unfortunately for me it seems that niacin burns my stomach. even small doses are intolerable and this product doesn't give ways to control amounts. it also seems very hard to find apprpopriate small doses for my purpose. it seems some of us have this difficulty so it is worth mentioning.

not wonderful

Posted by beafawcett on Sep 26, 2014

I have tried a number of magnesium powders by now. I find this one a bit acidic which is a problem on a bad day. I am not yet convinced by the enthusiasm for mag citrate and this confirms me that I will go back to other forms. This seems to deliver a slightly lesser amount of usable magnesium than , say, the magnesium phosphate I have used. It does okay though. it has a slightly chalky taste which hardly matters, but becomes another small negative. I don't recall why I selected this product at the time. maybe the price is good in which case it would make a sensible choice. maybe others find this good for them.

These have been very useful as I have a strong reaction to Vit D. using these drops is the simplest way for me to carefully titrate my dosage to avoid nasty moments.

so good

Posted by beafawcett on May 08, 2014

I accidently bought Ubiquinone recently instead of this Ubiquinol. I am over 60 and live with chronic illness. It became very clear I need the active Ubiquinol form to get any benefit. For me taking this is like simply feeling a little stronger each day. I am also able to tolerate a higher dose of B12 which is helping with some neurological symptoms. I cannot take this in the evening as it will keep me awake through the night. It seems to be utilised very quickly and gives me a benefit throughout the day Easy to swallow this is great for me. I have bought some of the 300mg product which I will try with caution at some time. For now the energy boost from this is good and safe.
