pity about the magnesium stearate...

I wish it was removed from Now Foods products!
OK as a moisturiser, not for internal use (for me)
Posted by emanuela on Dec 03, 2013
Been using as a moisturiser and it's ok (if you can stand the smell). However, taking it internally, it did nothing for me. It did not stop heartburn, in fact it probably made it worse, due to the citric acid. I am now suffering badly with fire-like burning in my stomach... been lasting for days now. I would like a version without citric acid!!! I think that would have more potential. Generally like this brand and the fact they use minimal additives.
Extreme stomach pain (like ulcer)
Posted by emanuela on Nov 02, 2014
I admit I have a bit of a weak stomach (though my digestive issues seemed to have been solved 2 years ago). In any case, I thought it'd be prudent to start by taking just ONE of these WITH a meal (not two away from meals as instructed). At the end of the first day, I had very bad stomach pains, as if a blade was stuck into my stomach, sharp and burning. I will NEVER buy this again, I do NOT recommend you even try these unless you have a very strong digestive system. Be ready to throw the whole pot into the bin as I have had to do. I had high expectations of this item. Very disappointed.
Not bad but why does it contain GUAR GUM?
Posted by emanuela on May 07, 2015
Guar gum has been known to cause digestive issues in at least some people. Most people taking S. Boulardii will have digestive issues and will be taking it for this issue, so really there is no good reason to include GUAR GUM in this product, except sloppiness/shortcuts and low quality. Disappointed in Now Fods...
Too sweet, contain fructose

Didn't realise these contained fructose. Fructose makes us fat (and increases risk of diabetes). I won't buy them again.
It seems to contain NO propylene glycol

All the other propolis extracts I have seen contain propylene glycol and other stuff I'd rather not take. This one does NOT and is therefore my favourite.
No unnecessary eccipients

No magnesium stearate No dioxides Lovely!
Nice and healthy

If you are after a sweet chocolate drink full of sugar, go elsewhere. This is non-alkalized cocoa (ie relatively bitter) but that is why it's healthier, it has more antioxidants that way. If you like dark chocolate or raw cacao, you will probably like this. You can always sweeten with a little stevia and/or cinnamon powder if you want. Cordyceps and reishi will also support your health. All in a chocolatey taste, great in the winter. Could not ask for more... actually, I could, it could be slightly cheaper :-)

Love this maca powder. Tastes great with anything, in my smoothies, raw puddings, anything at all. Will definitely purchase again. Just wonder why the nutritional info does not include calories per serving size...
Works but don't like the caplet
Posted by emanuela on Aug 24, 2013
It works fine, helps me relax, if anything makes me a bit drowsy afternoon to evening (I have been taking 3 a day, one after each main meal). Personally, I have been having trouble swallowing this whole, so have had to dissolve it in water. Therefore little point buying enteric coated caplets, I'd rather buy a capsule! Moreover, this caplet contains magnesium stearate which is not helpful. I wish magnesium stearate and all other useless eccipients were taken out of this and other supplements.

I have been taking for my teeth and bones and, after just a week or so of use at the recommended dose, I noticed my last wisdom tooth has just come up! (I am nearly 51) Frankly, I could have done without having to deal with an impacted wisdom tooth (currently damaging the opposing tooth), hence my 4 star review. Generally, Christopher's Original Formula products are all 5 stars!
OK but contains maltodextrin

I wish jarrow would remove such useless eccipients from their product. Three stars as I thought it helped me recover from H.Pylori infection.
