iHerb has been my go-to shop for a couple of years now in my quest to find supplements to help with ME/CFS and Osteoporosis. I have a dysfunctional methylation pathway and I'm currently following a combined Methylation/Mitochondrial support protocol. Using *Metafolin* and *AdenoylB12* my homocysteine has gone from dangerously high (48.1) to normal levels (9.1) and my anemia has also improved. For Osteoporosis *Strontium citrate* has greatly increased my bone mineral density. After 5 years my spine T-score went from -2.8 to -0.91 while my hip went from -2.6 to -2.25. Other helpful supplements/therapies include *Melatonin* (very helpful for sleep. I've found sublingual best) *Charcoal* (for IBS) *Yoga/Meditation*

Great as antiperspirant but stings like hell!

This is possibly the best underarm antiperspirant, either natural or chemical, I have ever used. Three sprays under each arm provides fantastic resistance to sweating. Using this magnesium oil elsewhere on the body is more problematic because it STINGS and BURNS quite a lot. So I have two pump packs, one 100% pure for use as an antiperspirant and one diluted 1:2 (oil:water) for muscles. Even with that dilution it stings, but it's tolerable.

Great as moisturizer, deodorant and in smoothies

I use raw virgin coconut oil more on my body than as a food these days. It's excellent as a whole body moisturizer and I make my own antiperspirant/deodorant with it (2 T of coconut oil mixed with 2 T of baking soda, 3 T of arrowroot and essential oils).

Stops IBS symptoms in their tracks

Charcoal is a mainstay in my supplement drawer due to mild IBS. I take a couple at the first sign of a flare up (gas, loose stools) and it does help. Be aware that it does blacken stools and can increase constipation. Also the capsule shell is made from gelatin so vegans will need to look elsewhere.

Best sunblock/sunscreen until they changed the formula

Posted on Feb 12, 2014

Before 2013 this went on very easily and wasn't greasy and unlike some other sunscreens doesn't cause an acne breakout. But since then it is a lot thicker and similar to most other zinc oxide based sunscreens. Still good but not great.

Active form of folic acid for Methylation Protocol

Posted on Sep 15, 2012

Using this, as part of the Methylation/Simplified Yasko protcol for ME/CFS, has helped eliminate my anemia and reduce high homocysteine levels (combined with B12). I also have the MTHFR gene defect (homozygous) so this form of folic acid, the most bio-available, is important to help bypass my troubled genetics.

Using Strontium Bone Maker as directed (2 caps = 680 mg) has improved my Bone Mineral Density considerably. In five years my spine T-score went from -2.8 to -0.91 while hip went from -2.6 to -2.25. Very impressive.

Great for hand and body washing. Mild but fresh peppermint scent and gel like consistency.

Just like a chocolate bounty - only chewy. Contains sulphites.

I do love the taste of this bar, although it's a fraction too sweet. The main negative is the inclusion of sulphites (sodium metabisulfite) and artificial flavours, which makes this only a very occasional treat for me.

Really didn't notice any effect from this. I'll stick with sublingual melatonin in future.

Nectar of the (low GI) gods!

Posted on Sep 15, 2012

I'm a recent convert to Xylitol as I'm anti-sugar (who isn't?) but I do have a sweet tooth. This is ground a little coarser than some brands but tastes exactly the same. Great price and it was delivered to me in Australia without any customs interference via Airmail.

Unreal castile!

Posted on Sep 15, 2012

I love castile soap for hand washing in the kitchen and the bathroom. Who wants bars of slippery soap around? This is quite thick, works great as a hand wash/cleanser and has pleasant tea tree scent.

Essential for those with MTHFR

Posted on Feb 12, 2014

If you like me have the homozygous MTHFR being expressed (shown by very high homocysteine) then you need methylfolate and methylB12. Together they take my homocysteine from dangerously high (48) to normal (9). These tablets are fairly easy to divide and either sublingually dissolve or swallow.
