Contains benzyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, sodium benzoate and may irritate dry and sensitive skin.

Posted on Apr 23, 2014

144 people found the following review helpful

Not a cream you would recommend for dry, irritated and sensitive skin. Benzyl alcohol is a solvent, preservative and viscosity decreasing agent known to be an immunotoxicant, skin irritant and allergen, cetyl alcohol is a surfactant and emulsion stabilizer suspected to be an environmental toxin, human allergen and skin irritant, sodium benzoate is a preservative expected to be toxic, dangerous and harmful. Even though this cream does have some safe, natural and beneficial ingredients, such as sunflower seed, rosemary, lavender and sage oils, aloe vera leaf juice, manuka honey and calendula, yucca and pansy extracts, sodium benzoate, benzyl alcohol and acetyl alcohol are more than enough to irritate my dry, sensitive and delicate skin. Not something I would order again.

The best raw unrefined shea butter on iHerb.

Posted on Mar 19, 2014

55 people found the following review helpful

100% pure raw unrefined shea butter with no additives, preservatives, or colorants, with a pleasant nutty aroma. Unlike many other shea butters, this one is pure, raw, unrefined, doesn't contain any additives or preservatives, such as vitamin E, which may be genetically modified, and has a soft and creamy non-grainy texture, making it very easy to scoop up a dollop, rub it between the fingers to melt it a bit (and it melts perfectly thanks to its non-grainy texture), and apply it to the skin. Shea butter is one of the most amazing natural skincare and haircare products known to man. It's renowned for its exceptional moisturizing, nourishing, protective, soothing, healing, anti-inflammatory, regenerative, rejuvenating properties, as well as being a powerful antioxidant rich in vitamins A, E, and catechins, preventing premature aging. It absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue, deeply moisturizes and nourishes the skin, improves its elasticity, making its soft, smooth, and supple, prevents dryness and dehydration, evens out the skin tone, improves the complexion, calms itching, reduces irritation and inflammation, facilitates healing, fights acne, blemishes, rashes, eczema, dermatitis, prevents and reduces stretch marks and scars, relieves pain caused by sunburn and peeling skin, heals sore and chapped lips, small wounds, cuts, burns, smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles, restores luster to dull and lifeless hair, acts as a natural sunscreen. I've been using this shea butter for a few weeks, but the results speak for themselves: my complexion has improved, some stretch marks, small scars, and even fine lines have faded, my skin has become softer and smoother and has a healthy glow, my lips are no longer dry, chapped, and sore, the skin on my elbows and feet is softer and smoother than ever, my hair is shiny, I don't have any split ends, my scalp is healthier, no more flakes and itchiness (I make a hair mask with shea butter). So glad I discovered this amazing unrefined shea butter and would recommend it to anyone wanting to improve the overall condition of their skin or hair.

Hexane extracted, heat treated and refined rose hip seed oil.

Posted on Apr 02, 2014

54 people found the following review helpful

Unrefined cold pressed rose hip seed oil is orange and has a distinct rose hip aroma. This one is clear and has no aroma, which proves that it has been refined and altered by heat. Even though it retains some of its moisturizing properties, it has been stripped of many of the nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants that cold pressed rose hip seed oil is valued for. It looks like it has been hexane extracted, which makes it even dangerous. Hexane is a known carcinogen and considered a hazardous substance by the EPA. Sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate altering the natural integrity and composition of rose hip seed oil might have been added. Its clear color is the result of it having been exposed to extreme temperatures during the refining process which destroys the naturally occurring essential saturated and unsaturated fatty acids and proteins that are so beneficial in unrefined cold pressed rose hip seed oil. It's no longer hypoallergenic and safe for all skin types, it's no longer rich in the naturally occurring in raw shea butter vitamins A, C and E, powerful antioxidants, as well as linoleum and linolenic fatty acids, it no longer possesses the nourishing, protective, soothing, healing, anti-inflammatory, regenerative and rejuvenating properties of unrefined rose hip seed oil. Won't order it again.

Packed with toxic allergens, skin irritants and carcinogens.

It contains mineral oil, a known toxicant, allergen and possible carcinogen, propylene glycol, a toxic allergen and skin irritant, microcrystalline wax, a suspected toxicant, acetyl alcohol, a possible allergen, stearic acid, a possible irritant, polysorbate-60, a suspected toxicant, PEG-40 stearate, a known toxicant which may be contaminated with ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane, dangerous carcinogens, dimethicone, a persistent and bioaccu mulative toxicant, unknown fragrance, which may be a harmful and dangerous toxicant, methylparaben and butylparaben, known endocrine disruptors, immune toxicants, allergens and suspected carcinogens, chlorphenesin, a synthetic preservative, triethanolamine, a harmful skin allergen and toxicant. The list of ingredients is pretty scary. These moisturizing socks are not something I would ever want to put on my feet.

Contains cetyl alcohol, pota ssium sorbate, fragrance and very little hyaluronic acid.

Posted on Apr 27, 2014

38 people found the following review helpful

Despite its name, this cream contains very little hyaluronic acid, it's not even one of its main ingredients. Instead it contains cetyl alcohol, sodium benzoate and some unspecified fragrance. Even though they're not some dangerous carcinogens, they may irritate dry, sensitive and delicate skin. Cetyl alcohol is an emulsion stabilizer and surfactant suspected to be a skin irritant and environmental toxin, pota ssium sorbate is a preservative known to be a skin irritant, allergen and human toxicant. In addition to this, this product contains some unspecified "natural aroma", it's unclear what exactly it is, where it comes from, and whether it's actually natural or synthetic. All the other ingredients are safe, though. When I apply this product to my skin, it does have a toning and firming effect, but at the same time sometimes it causes a slight burning sensation where it's applied. Overall, it's not a bad product, but if you have sensitive and delicate skin, it may not be for you. You can find better hyaluronic acid products on iHerb.

Great organic spirulina.

Posted on Apr 28, 2014

37 people found the following review helpful

This spirulina is USDA certified organic, so you can be sure that it's free of microcystins, toxic metals, and harmful bacteria, which may cause gastrointestinal disturbances and, in the long term, liver cancer. This blue-green algae is truly a superfood: rich in B vitamins (riboflavin, thiamin, niacin, pantothenic and folic acid), vitamins K, E, C, A, copper, iron, manganese, magnesium, pota ssium, zinc, calcium, selenium, antioxidants, flavonoids and phytosterols, it has four times the antioxidant power of blueberries, contains about 60% protein (more than meat, poultry, fish, and soybeans), which is superior to typical plant protein, as well as all the essential amino acids, and is an excellent source of dietary fiber and the rare gamma-linolenic, alpha-linolenic, linoleic, stearidonic, eicosapentaenoic, docosahexaenoic and arachidonic fatty acids. It's beneficial in treating diabetes, anemia, heart disease, high cholesterol, obesity, stress, chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety, depression, gastrointestinal conditions, indigestion, morning sickness, nausea, bloating, flatulence, constipation, colitis, colon inflammation, oral leukoplakia, tics, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, acne, as well as other conditions. Rich in chlorophyll, one of nature's most powerful detoxifying agents, spirulina removes toxins, heavy metals, and radioactive isotopes from the blood, boosts and strengthens the immune system, improves eye health, alleviates allergies and protects against allergic reactions, reduces inflammation, aids digestion, helps improve the absorption of dietary nutrients, prevents heartburn and acid reflux, relieves nausea and bloating, helps stabilize blood sugar and regulate insulin levels, prevents blood sugar spikes, normalizes blood pressure, lowers triglycerides and LDL or "bad" cholesterol levels while increasing HDL or "good" cholesterol, protects against strokes, atherosclerosis and peripheral arterial disease, helps maintain healthy bones and teeth, and even reduces the risk of cancer. It's a great product. After I started taking it, I've noticed that I’ve become more energetic and resilient, my headaches and acid reflux don’t bother me as much as they used to, I sleep better and feel rested and refreshed when I wake up. Glad I discovered it.

Marula oil: a rare gem on iHerb.

Posted on Mar 20, 2014

71 people found the following review helpful

One of the most amazing oils I've ever tried. In Africa marula oil known as the miracle oil. What makes it super to other liquid oils is that it's exceptionally high in antioxidants, pH-balanced, non-comedogenic (it's one of the very few non-comedogenic oils), suitable for all skin and hair types, doesn't form a film on the skin, clog pores, or make it look greasy, which is particularly important for people with oily, combination, or prone to acne skin. High in vitamins C, E, oleic acid, linoleic, palmitic, stearic fatty acids, and flavonoids, it deeply moisturizes, nourishes, softens, soothes, protects, revitalizes, regenerates, and heals the skin, reducing redness and inflammation, improving its elasticity, making its soft, smooth, and supple, preventing dryness and dehydration, evening out the skin tone, improving the complexion, protecting against premature aging, calming itching, helping get rid of acne, blemishes, rashes, eczema, dermatitis, as well as many other skin and hair conditions. It also prevents and reduces stretch marks and scars, relieves pain caused by sunburn and peeling skin, heals sore and chapped lips, small wounds, cuts, burns, smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles, restores luster to dull and lifeless hair. Since I started using this marula oil, I've noticed that my complexion has improved, my skin has become softer and smoother, redness and inflammation is gone, my acne has cleared up, my hair is healthier, some fine lines have faded. So glad I discovered this amazing product and thanks to iHerb for carrying it.

I would recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their overall health and well-being.

Amazing all-natural organic salve with manuka honey.

I love that this organic Sierra Bees Bumpy Road Salve is all-natural, pH balanced, eco-friendly, biodegradable, free of cruelty, sulfates, parabens, petroleum, phthalates, PEGs, EDTA, silicon, phenoxyethanol, synthetic additives, harsh preservatives or fragrances, suitable for all skin types, and contains nothing but amazing organic ingredients, one of which is real manuka honey from New Zealand. Manuka honey is one the most potent antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and healing agents known to man. It does wonders for all skin types, even the most sensitive: it fights infection, heals wounds, sores, dry, sore, and chapped lips, cuts, abrasions, peeling skin, bruises, insect bites, stings, abscesses, boils, blisters, burns, carbuncles, calms itching, reduces redness and inflammation, improves the complexion, evens out the skin tone, detoxifies the skin, exfoliates dead skin cells, draws out excess dirt, oil, and product buildup, removes impurities and debris from under the skin without stripping the skin's protective layer, unclogs and tightens pores decreasing their size, regulates sebum production, improves cellular circulation, stimulates cell renewal and regeneration, tones, firms, nourishes, invigorates, revitalizes, and rejuvenates the skin helping restore its elasticity and protecting it at the cellular level, supports and strengthens the skin's defensive mechanisms, and prevents premature aging. All the other ingredients in this salve are pretty impressive as well: beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin surface while still allowing it to breathe, a powerful blend of extra virgin olive, sunflower, and rosehip oils and shea butter deeply moisturizes, nourishes and softens the skin, restoring its elasticity, locking in moisture and preventing dryness and dehydration, comfrey, arnica, and rosemary extracts are powerful anti-inflammatory and healing agents soothing, toning, firming, healing, regenerating, revitalizing, and protecting dry, sensitive and damaged skin, calming itching, reducing redness and inflammation, supporting and strengthening the skin's defensive mechanisms, facilitating the healing of small wounds, sores, cuts, abrasions, burns, bruises, insect bites, stings, abscesses, boils, blisters, alleviating pain caused by sunburn and peeling skin, improving cellular circulation, stimulating cell renewal and regeneration, tea tree and lavender essential oils are powerful antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, analgesic agents fighting and preventing infection and inflammation, non-GMO vitamin E is a natural preservative and powerful antioxidant. I've been using this salve on the dry and flaky patches on my face, hands and feet and it really works: almost all the flakiness, redness and inflammation is gone, my skin tone has noticeably evened out, my skin is softer, smoother and no longer rough. This product is also an effective all-natural insect repellent, not to mention that it has a pleasant lavender aroma, which I love. Would definitely recommend it.

Not a bad product, but may contain GMO ingredients and may not be suitable for dry and sensitive scalp.

Posted on Jun 07, 2014

34 people found the following review helpful

Unlike many other conditioners, this one is vegetarian, biodegradable, color-safe, and free of sulfates, parabens, petroleum, phthalates, PEGs, EDTA, silicon, gluten, phenoxyethanol, BPA, diaxane, toxic chemicals, dangerous additives, harsh preservatives or fragrances, never tested on animals, and contains some safe, natural, plant derived, and organic ingredients: organic rose seed, sweet almond, and evening primrose oils deeply moisturize and nourish the scalp, locking in moisture and preventing dryness and dehydration, condition and detangle the hair, making it softer and more manageable, organic chamomile and calendula extracts, as well as non-organic horsetail, coltsfoot, balm mint, fennel, and hops extracts (not very likely to be GMO) repair dry and damaged hair, protecting it at the cellular level and restoring its elasticity, strengthen the root bulbs and follicle connection, improve cellular circulation, stimulate cell renewal and regeneration, keratin production, and hair growth, prevent dandruff, flakiness, scalp infections, and hair loss, add volume at the root, provide body and shine, organic aloe vera leaf juice soothes, tones and heals the scalp, calms itching, reduces redness and inflammation, xanthan gum is a natural binder, emulsion stabilizer and viscosity controlling agent. This product does, however, contain a lot of non-organic ingredients, such as glycerin, an emollient and hair conditioning agent, grapefruit and apple fruit cell culture extracts, and vitamins C and E as preservatives, which are most likely to be synthetically produced and genetically modified (it's not specified that they're non-GMO), as well as bra ssica campestris/aleurites fordi oil copolymer, which is likely to be derived from GMO rapeseed oil. This hair conditioner also contains as one of its main ingredients cetyl alcohol, which may irritate dry and sensitive scalp and cause allergic reactions. Overall, it's not a bad product, it does detangle, condition, and rehydrate dry, damaged, and color-treated hair, and it's much safer than mainstream conditioners full of toxic chemicals, allergens, endocrine disruptors, and carcinogens, but it could be much better and safer if all its ingredients, especially vitamins C and E, were 100% organic and non-GMO.

Contains ethyl cellulose, sodium alginate, ammonium hydroxide, and stearic acid.

Posted on Apr 29, 2014

34 people found the following review helpful

Generally, krill oil is a great product: it has higher concentrations of eicosapentaenoic polyunsaturated fatty acid and astaxanthin, a keto-carotenoid and powerful antioxidant, than fish oil and, as a result of this, is more effective in treating heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, arthritis, osteoporosis, neurodegenerative conditions, Alzheimer's disease, attention disorders, cystic fibrosis, stress, anxiety and depression. It boosts the immune system, helps stabilize blood sugar and regulate insulin levels, prevents blood sugar spikes, normalizes blood pressure, lowers triglycerides and LDL or "bad" cholesterol levels while increasing HDL or "good" cholesterol, supports the liver function, protects against strokes, atherosclerosis and peripheral arterial disease, reduces inflammation, helps maintain healthy joints, bones and teeth, relives stress, and even reduces the risk of cancer. But this krill oil is not the type of krill oil I would buy. It contains ethyl cellulose, sodium alginate, ammonium hydroxide, and stearic acid. Ethyl cellulose is a binder and viscosity increasing agent suspected to be a human toxicant and allergen. Ammonium hydroxide is a denaturant and pH-adjuster known to be a persistent and bioaccu mulative human toxicant, allergen, skin irritant and carcinogen. Sodium alginate is a thickener and flavor enhancer which may potentially lead to hypertension, calcium deficiency, and heart disease. Stearic acid is most likely to be animal derived (since it's not specified that it's plant derived) and may be neurotoxic and carcinogenic. Definitely not a supplement you would recommend.

Not a bad product, but contains limonene.

Posted on Apr 22, 2014

33 people found the following review helpful

Great to know that this children's toothpaste is free of sulfates, parabens, SLS, synthetic preservatives, flavors, colorants or harsh abrasives, which is especially important for children's teeth. It does have some great ingredients: non-hydrated silica gently cleans children's teeth, calendula and sweet almond oil soothe and heal sore gums, strengthen the enamel, reduce redness and inflammation, algin and esculin are safe and all-natural binders and viscosity increasing agents, but this toothpaste also contains limonene, which is a possible human immune system toxicant, irritant and allergen. Even though limonene is one of the major constituents of orange essential oil, it becomes dangerous and toxic when it's oxidized or turns rancid, which happens when it's exposed to air or sunlight. It doesn't happen that often in personal care products and hopefully, it's not the case with this toothpaste, but it would be much better and safer without this ingredient.
