Smells bad, nothing like real lavender, certainly not like organic!
Posted by PurplePegasus on Dec 04, 2012
Sorry to say, between the organic eucalyptus and this one, NOW is a dud when it comes to organic oils. I work with a lot of organic oils and have never smelled anything like these. They're on the foul side, this doesn't exactly reek it smells nothing like the sweet floral that is lavender. It smells just bad. I do not recommend and wish I could get my money back from NOW foods. Skip this one and try another brand.
Smells incredible, moderate exfoliation, helps with dullness
Posted by PurplePegasus on Dec 04, 2012
I finally bought this after years of having it in my wish list. It stings a little but my skin is not sensitive. The smell is incredible, like real lavender, I love it. However the first time I used it, it left a double hole in the center of my face! I guess it was an old acne mark that I never noticed. I panicked after that, I had 2 small holes center cheek below the eye. I quickly put some oil on it & the next day it had keratinized, meaning it was gone. This product removed the dull appearance of my skin and made it look radiant, glowing. Of course the effect is very temporary. I'm not sure how often this can be used but I love the packaging, very minimalistic white look perfect on my bathroom counter and I love the smell and the instant glow. So far as exfoliation, I'm not sure. It's not as instant to remove dryness as another brand I use but it seems more potent at removing surface layers. All and all it's a pleasant experience except for the skin holes and I will probably re-purchase when I run out, if only for the real lavender scent. It's a feel-good treatment.
WARNING: GMO ALERT!
Posted by PurplePegasus on Mar 22, 2012
These are no longer non-GMO!! I spoke with Tim, quality control manager at Carlson's: he said they have not been GMO-free for Quite A While (assume several years since GMO soy planting started in the early 1990's) and he replied YES when I asked if I should assume this product contains the BT toxin that causes Morgellons!! He said they haven't tested for purity in a few years. I really appreciated his honesty considering the first person I spoke with (female) the previous week was trying to tell me they were purified to be GMO-free (This is impossible and no lab can guaranteed this! Watch the videos by Jeffrey M Smith or read his work.) Please note: Carlson's current label does NOT say non-GMO and the reason why I phoned them. I shipped these back to iHerb and got some IPP (ID Protected) lecithin instead which is guaranteed to be GMO-free. Buyer beware!
No major results here but no side effects either

Seems to work but not sure. I do need to supplement with extra B's for homocysteine balance as B complex doesn't do anything for me in that regards whereas individual B vites taken together work amazingly well. Back to this pill: I initially divided the cap in 2 but even now that I take a full one, I don't have any reaction to niacin, the potency is too low to be able to cause flushing from what I read, it's higher dosage that cause the problem, unless someone would have pre-existing conditions to make them super sensitive to it. I'm not sure I've seen any benefits, I might go back to Country Life brand because I read lots of negative reviews on here about Jarrow's B12 changed formula which led me to some searching and I found some questionable reports about Jarrow's owner and his being very rude to his customers. I'm not sure what to make of it and someone might not care but I found it disturbing enough not to want to have anything to do with the company. In the meantime, I've already switched my B12 from Jarrow to Solgar and that works much, much better so maybe these reviews (posted here on iHerb at Jarrow's B12) are right after all.
BEWARE: GMO granules strongly suspected!

I contacted Bluebonnet several times to ask to see certification or some kind of guarantee that their lecithin is non-GMO (since their label does not say organic nor IPP, the only two certifications that guarantee the soy is non-GMO, and their website has no info whatsoever) and they refuse to answer! I phoned and emailed them several times and they hide behind voice mail, do not return emails or phone calls. I URGE EVERYONE to contact Bluebonnet and demand to see certification! In the interim, boycott this unethical company. My can is unopened and will be returning it to iHerb.
WRINKLE-CAUSING CARCINOGENIC INGREDIENTS ALERT!!!

Read the label. Enough said. If you can't pronounce it, it's toxic. (Google the 2nd ingredient FMI) If someone gave me this as a gift, I'd toss it with the garbage. I would never pass this on to someone knowing how hazardous to your health the chemicals they use are. Educate yourselves, people!!
Awesome for MCS patients and food poisoning

Mops up all the toxins off the blood & gut and excess ammonia before it enters the brain. A life saver in case of accidental overdoses of prescription meds etc. and with food poisoning.
Great for veins & to stimulate natural skin collagen production but IS THIS REAL PYCNOGENOL?
Posted by PurplePegasus on Nov 02, 2012
In the early 90's I received a glossy booklet that explained all about real pycnogenol® which should bear the trademark logo from Horphag Research Ltd and not to be confused with the unregulated 'maritime pine bark' which is said to be less potent. The Now Foods brand carries the logo (a pine tree inside a circle). I am editing this review as I could not spell "Horphag" I did a search and came across a very interesting article called PYCNOGENOL CONTROVERSY which states that Horphag is now using extraction techniques not approved by the French government (France being the only source of true pycnogenol) and the controversy states that, unless the bottle bears the seal of authenticity of Dr. Masquelier then it is the fake pycnogenol and that its extraction process turns this fake antioxidant into a potent oxidant. OUCH! Might explain my lackluster results here! More research by me is needed. My original review: I found myself taking 3 caps per day, along with COQ10 and vitamin E to alleviate the extreme thigh and wrists/arm vein pain that I experience during PMS. I was also diagnosed with high cholesterol due to steroid meds and hoping this will contribute to reversing that. This was not as effective as horsechestnut for my leg vein pain but I've since found out that horsechestnut causes or aggravates liver failure, which is an illness I'm currently treating so I definitely needed something different. My skin does look healthy with smaller pores than in the past but I'm taking a lot of supplements which are beneficial to skin so I can't gauge if it's the pycnogenol® or not. I trust it is working and might try a higher dosage later to see if that works better. Time will tell. No apparent side effects.
Loaded with TOXIC chemicals - stay away

Has anyone read the ingredients or is everyone deluded by the price and pretty name? Glyceryl Stearate? Parabens? Hydrogenated oils? YEAST?? Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate? All these are WRINKLE AND CANCER CAUSING INGEDIENTS!! Borlind's website has a page on purity. To that I say HA! STAY AWAY FROM ANNEMARIE BORLIND unless you want a wrinkled face and cancer in 2 years tops!
Firms up and hardens my muscles incredibly fast!
Posted by PurplePegasus on Jan 09, 2009
I don't exercise and the first day of taking 3-4 of these pills, I could feel my leg muscles hardening. Unfortunately I got fat from prescription gluco-cortico-steroids and that fat (located in my upper body only) won't budge no matter what! But I seem to be developing muscle under all that flab. I used to have a very firm, thin upper body. Maybe after a few years of these the steroid-induced fat will finally melt? I've Googled it and I can't find out how to lose weight/fat after steroid usage! =( I wish I had never taken Cortef, it ruined my body!
The most powerful sore throat analgesic!
Posted by PurplePegasus on Dec 06, 2012
I bought this because all sore throat sprays I wanted were sold out (the propolis ones) and it's nearly impossible to find an organic sore throat spray so I decided to go by ingredients. Knowing how well peppermint EO works as analgesic (pain numbing) for headaches just as clove EO does for toothaches, I thought I'd give this a try. Now I'm not a fan of mint oral products and I don't believe in "freshening your breath" unless pathology requires it as I'm not a smoker and luckily this is one health problem I don't have. Yesterday I came down with a searing sore throat. One spray of this and the pain was nuked, on contact, and did not come back. Amazing! Now I must say that the taste is a bit revolting to me: again too much peppermint and the combo with ginger & clove is quite off putting as it hit my tongue and throat my first instinct was to gargle it out but I'm glad I resisted the impulse. Instantly the pain had subsided and I was left with this strong spicy taste and a very icy-cold feeling. The unbearable shock to my senses and buccal cavity passed in less than 3 minutes when it subsided into a more manageable taste. I can see how this would be great for someone who wants their breath to be iced and minty but for me it's a powerful remedy for sore throats. More efficient and faster than throat lozenges and without need for repetitive ingestion. 1 spray is all it took. Yes this bottle is small and skinny but considering how rarely I get sore throats and that only 1 spray is needed, I foresee it will last me a couple of years. Highly recommended for sore throats. I love Herb Pharm brand, never disappoints me.
To darken my hair
Posted by PurplePegasus on Nov 21, 2012
It seems to be working. I'm not taking any panthenol (B5) whatsoever with this. The first cap gave me a minor headache and so did the 2nd one that I took the next day. Since then, I use my NOW empty capsules and only have 1/2 a dose about 4 times per day. No more headaches from this. Unless it's my imagination, my hair does appear darker. My dry hair has also become softer and to my utter shock, a couple days ago I woke up missing the fine line under one of my eyes. (I am taking other skin/anti-wrinkle supplements but this seemed to do the trick along with another one I added the same week). I will update this if my hair color is restored. I do not like the high content of sterates in this item (double) & remove one star for that.
