I hope my reviews will be helpful in assisting you to choose your products. I'm dealing with overlapping illnesses, so a lot of symptoms to treat. I try to review things that are not listed and hard to figure out online such as packaging type (is that bottle safe glass or is it toxic-plastic?) and contents (does that tea have a staple, string or simply pressed together?). Please keep in mind that I live in Southern California and that arid weather is very different than humid so, things that work for me, such as moisturizers or creams, might be too rich for you. Also skin types differ, I'm both oily and dry currently so I try to indicate all that. On occasion, I'll add humor to my reviews, particularly if I was unhappy (humor heals) and I love to vote Yes on others' helpful reviews. Thank you to those of you who remember to afford me the same courtesy. Welcome to my page and hope you find some fun, helpful or delicious products you hadn't tried before. Be well, everyone.

Excellent soap and a delightful giraffe box!

Posted on Jan 02, 2014

I collect giraffes and, after seeing that this was unscented and safe for people with MCS, I bought it mainly for the collectible box. This time, the box you see is exactly what I received! The soap is a dream! I would describe it as a cross between a creamy soap and a glycerine soap. It's light yet creamy. It seems to last longer on the soap dish that my previous favorite, the Grandpa brand which totally dissolves on the dish. This one also truly has no scent at all so very safe for PWMCS. The lather is creamy and thick and feels great on, and the skin is not dried out when toweling off. I haven't tried it on my face, not sure if I will but it's great for the body.

NOT VEGAN: comes from sheep's lanolin!

Editing my review: just got off the phone with HO and they told me that this vitamin comes from sheep's wool! 2 free samples of this D sold me on this D: I ordered a bottle because it's an excellent vitamin D (my Dr. said I was very deficient) and it protects against colds & (swine) flu. It's best to take 1 pill x4/day. If taking too much of any D at once, it is too strong a diuretic. Best to split it up during the day, all day protection that way.

Excellent taste, helps me overcome cold & flu, said to be great for thryoid

This coconut oil tastes great, lots of coconut flavor. I leave at room temp & spread on sprouted bread or put it in the fridge and slice a piece and eat like a candy bar. I used this VCO when I came down with a cold (or flu not sure) and it nuked the symptoms right away. It's also an anti-fungal so if I eat too much I get die-off reaction but this is gentler than anti-candida pills and works just as well or better. VCO is also said to be great for thyroid function &, being a saturated fat, it's also anabolic and lipolytic, meaning it helps burn body fat & build muscle without exercising. (At least it does me, due to muscle memory from back when I used to be a gym rat). 100% natural & organic, nothing added, comes in a glass jar so no plastic leaching into our OEVCO. An all around winner and I love it at room temperature, or cold and hard small bite size pieces after refrigeration: it reminds me of the inside of an Almond Joy bar!

Good

I prefer DeSouza's liquid chlorophyll but they, much like salad dressing manufacturers, insist on making the opening too big so you spill way too much so that you waste it and their sales go up. So I stopped buying the liquid. (The stains can be permanent on your countertops). This is ok. Works well as internal deodorant, detox, antioxidant and more. DeSouza's chloro. in caps has more pure ingredients but iHerb so far doesn't carry it.

Potent skin-beautifying agent: deeply hydrating, softening & pore improver

Posted on May 06, 2015

8 people found the following review helpful

I was initially disappointed in this. I wanted a glycolic liquid as instant dry skin dissolver to replace the AHA mask I currently use on my sand paper-dry skin. I thought this gel would be it but no. To give you an idea if this might work for you, I live in arid desert climate, have combination super oily and severly dry skin (yes, the worst of them all: imagine super rough dry skin that shines like an oil slick!) It's however not sensitive. I have severe MCS and this is 100% unscented to me. (I purchased in cool weather). Product stung mildly the first time where skin was raw. I expected this to burn, dry and peel my top layer and hopefully dimish a small patch of some old (but mild) poke marks on my cheek and fix my bumpy chin from a very acne prone youth. This doesn't do that. However, I noticed that this softens skin on contact and is not drying but deeply hydrating. After a week of using this daily, along with their evening moisturizer and Badger rose oil, my dryness is completely gone as these products act for a good 12+ hours. (I layer as follows: oil, then moisturizer and finish with this.) Not only that but horizontal neck lines are dimished on contact, my skin feeks like velvet, smooth and looks youthful and pores, formerly the size of moon craters, have now turned invisible and tight! This effect is, for now, temporary. Note that I am now middle aged. You need to have some problem to fix or, of course, you will not see results. With these 3 products, my skin looks a lot better than it did in my acne-prone 20's. NOTE: I have now tried Devita without the Badger rose oil, it was not nearly as effective on my dry skin. Same with using oil only. I am at an age where I need all 3 products to heal dryness for 12+ hrs. When climate goes humid, the oiliness comes back fast. Now, for the bad news: not finding the Devita Rx cream with multi-peptides and another serum I never got around to trying, I went to Devita's website: to my surprise, they have discontinued a lot of their fancy creams! Are these excellent products next? Is the company dismantling soon? I would buy all that iHerb has in stock but for one, I can't afford it and, two, I only have one face, so they'd expire before I could use them all, so I am passing the info here and letting you try them instead of keeping them all to myself, as I'd love to do. ;) My fear is logging in and finding out they've either been discontinued or worse, reformulated like Mychelle did theirs! I hope iHerb carries them forever because I hate to be disloyal to my favorite store but I am already going elsewhere for items that iHerb sadly has quit carrying. I hope I gave you enough details to decide if it might work for you too. Please do target your products to your own specific needs, skin type and climate. Hope it will improve your skin as much as it did mine. Here's to us all looking the best we can with what we got. Be well, everyone! :)

It's actually pretty good

This is mild dark taste, not bitter and the salt just adds a bit of kick but overall it's sweet. I didn't buy this for years as I didn't want any salt in my chocolate. The almonds are not hurting my very sensitive teeth so far. I might repurchase. 3 stars because it's not organic and not really spectacular like the one iHerb sadly stopped carrying, the ginger candy one.

CAREFUL! Gave me diabetes symptoms!

Posted on Dec 09, 2013

8 people found the following review helpful

I have been diagnosed with chronic very low potassium and life-threatening hypoglycemia. These pills sent me in diabetes for 2 wks straight, until I figured out what was going on. (I knew it was diabetes because I was diagnosed with steroid-induced diabetes several years ago when put on Cortef). The FDA is right, here, to make these supplements only 3% of the US RDA! This potassium is dangerous! I am giving it 2 stars because when I am severely exhausted it helps with the CFIDS symptoms and makes me stronger but if it's easy to get thrown out of balance with this. I can't even take 2 pills per day! Not sure what is going on. Considering I'm severely low in potassium, I can't imagine what kinds of persons can take this safely. It's a pity because it helps with the debilitating exhaustion but the side effects are way too severe for me. I'm glad I was able to figure out it was this pill causing it, as when I quit it, I went back to balance and thrown again with severe diabetic thirst and discomfort all day yesterday. No good!

Doesn't work but loaded with toxic ingredients!

Posted on May 17, 2009

So much for Dr. Perricone's claims on PBS! Not only doesn't this product work in the least for weight loss, it is loaded with dangerous ingredients such as Dicalcium Phosphate, Sucrose, Fatty acid ester, Silicia! (??) I mean if you're taking this to balance blood sugars why add "sucrose" to the equation?! It's like commercial toothpastes that are loaded with sugar! I wish I could give this negative stars to diminish the 5 stars the others gave when they clearly wrote that they had no idea if it works or not. Well I'm here to tell you: save your money and buy some chromium instead: it does not!

Nothing natural, loaded w/toxic ingredients!

Posted on Mar 26, 2010

Currently shopping for natural B complex. Happened on this item and I'm utterly shocked: not only is there 0 indication that the B vitamins come from 100% natural, non-GMO, non-synthetic source, the "other ingredients" are highly toxic! Just google each one of them and you will see clearly the dangers & the side effects for: Dicalcium Phosphate, Croscarmellose Sodium, Stearic Acid, Silicon Dioxide, Dextrin, Magnesium Stearate, Titanium Dioxide. Unfortunately the magnesium stearate is one that is hard to avoid but the rest on the list are far more toxic! Why buy a supplement that causes migraines & possibly cancer?

Loaded with dangerous ingredients!

Proof that organic does not mean healthy: Inulin is a dangerous fake fiber; spirulina is extremely dangerous to those of us who have heavy metal toxicity and has even been lethal to some as it mobilizes metals they have ended up in the brain and killed a few patients! Oats contain gluten & many of us healthy folks have wised up & do not eat any grains: why add them to an organic vitamin? Both safflower & canola oil create illness particularly canola which is a very toxic oil! (See Dr. Mercola's writings on this) Silicon dioxide causes many side effects so does carrageenan per Dr. Weil (migraines etc); read stuff on glycerin side effects; and soy is a well known endocrine disruptor which builds up excess xenoestrogens. I'll just say no to this very unhealthy "organic" product.

Changed formula is no good! Questionable ingredients!

Posted on Jan 09, 2009

23 people found the following review helpful

They changed the formula on this and now it not only smells stronger (I have fragrance sensitivities) but also it doesn't work as an AHA like the original formula did. I have very dry skin (with oily combo) and this used to remove all the flakes and prep the skin nicely to absorb moisturizer. Now it doesn't. My skin is as dry after as it was before using it. This formula foams up more but doesn't do the job. Why did they have to change the formula!? On top of that many ingredients are questionable! If you can't pronounce it but they claim it comes from nature or coconut, you know it's been chemically altered/treated. Of course "everything" comes from nature, even toxic chemicals and carcinogens: aliens didn't drop off a package on Earth full of "unnatural" ingredients! Disappointed in this company which was supposed to support environment and use wholesome ingredients. They fail in both counts! Ev

BEWARE: GMO granules strongly suspected!

Posted on Apr 17, 2012

I contacted Bluebonnet several times to ask to see certification or some kind of guarantee that their lecithin is non-GMO (since their label does not say organic nor IPP, the only two certifications that guarantee the soy is non-GMO, and their website has no info whatsoever) and they refuse to answer! I phoned and emailed them several times and they hide behind voice mail, do not return emails or phone calls. I URGE EVERYONE to contact Bluebonnet and demand to see certification! In the interim, boycott this unethical company. My can is unopened and will be returning it to iHerb.
