Working adaptogen

I take 2 per night, and it's fine if taken during the day as well. - It works as an adaptogen and general upregulating anti-oxidant (upregulating our own antioxidant systems) - It's a GABA-mimetic, so it should induce relaxation to some degree. - The Withanolide content is HIGH = induces neuronal growth and synaptic regeneration - It's a mild acetylcholinesterase inhibitor = more choline - Seems to increase T4-to-T3 thyroid hormone conversion Once one gets the dose and timing dialed in, and adjusts to the sedation (present in some people), it seems like a good choice.

I use it for sleep

This product helps me sleep. Bacopa, gotu kola, and a few of the other included ingredients in this formula have been studied with regard to cognitive performance: the results are generally mildly to moderately favorable, but often inconclusive. I've been told that Bacopa requires about 12 weeks to take effect - I've been taking this formula for longer than that, and while I believe it has helped me, I'm not sure that my mental performance has improved.

Well designed formula

The inclusion of B6 as p5p was a good choice in conjunction with tryptophan. The Dr. Best formula includes B3 as niacinamide (which is a known soporific agent), but having added my own niacinamide, I cannot perceive any difference. Melatonin is synthesized AFTER serotonin. The synthesis of serotonin (and other neurotransmitters) is catalyzed by a B6-dependent enzyme. Furthermore, B6 is required to manufacture Niacin from tryptophan. Thus a reason one might choose tryptophan over melatonin is NOT to skip any intermediary steps (there are a few studies showing that direct melatonin supplementation reduces levels of intermediary products). I use low-dose melatonin anyway (Same brand, sustained release) because sleep is scarce.

Good form of zinc

This brought my zinc levels back up, and it's a good source of orotic acid. I'm sure zinc aspartate would have done the same, but I take this at night in conjunction with magnesium glycinate (both NMDA inhibitors). I'd rather not have an excitatory neurotransmitter (L-aspartate) in circulation when I'm trying to sleep. For the supplementing athletes: D-aspartate lingers even longer.

Mild enough to use regularly

It's an effective glycolic acid soap, but mild enough for frequent use. This is good for normal skin, but especially for mild to moderate acne and blemishes; it will brighten and somewhat clear the complexion after each use. Apply dry (face perhaps some to the neck / other problem areas), wait a few minutes, and then rinse. You may want to follow with a suitable moisturizer. Derma-E probably makes a good one; I'll give them a try when I run out of current stock.
