My Reviews

Absolutely a Life Saver!

Posted by Reviewer1681024 on Oct 20, 2012

I have a condition where I have difficulties processing Thiamin. I must therefore take pharmacological doses of Thiamin in order to prevent lethal lactic acidosis as well as other symptoms associated with the wet and dry forms of beriberi. I am also extraordinarily sensitive to excipients and the active compounds in supplements. I love the fact that many of Country Life's products are gluten free and GMC certified. These quality product attributes are absolutely essential to me. Because I am highly sensitive to things that are consumed, the fact that I can take this supplement without a reaction is a testament to Country Life's high quality standards (of note: I am the proverbial canary in the coal mine). I can take many tablets of this product every day without a deleterious reaction. I've been doing it for months (under a doctor's supervision)! Thank you Country Life! NOTE: Am looking forward to the day when manufacturers such as Country Life and Bluebonnet offer certified soy free products!

No longer "allergen free."

Posted by Reviewer1681024 on May 31, 2012

The old labels for this product used to read "Contains no sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, soy, mild, egg, shellfish or preservatives." The new labels read "Not manufactured with yeast, wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nut ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens." It's now possible for this product to become contaminated with allergens. I am now unable to tolerate the product.

Thank goodness, a non-fish derived form of D3

Posted by Reviewer1681024 on Jan 17, 2009

I am highly sentitive to many chemicals. I cannot consume products derived from fish, and I cannot consume softgels. Most other D3 sources are derived from fish. This product was a godsend! So far this winter I have not experienced SAD, and it may be due to the addition of this product to my supplement regimen. I am a recent fan of many of the Bluebonnet products, because according to their website: "manufacturing meets the highest standards established by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). Additionally, we use full Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)." Given my many food allergies, I require products that are as pure-as-possible. And many of the Bluebonnet products fit my stringent requirements, as well as NOW foods and Country Life products.

I really appreciate this form of Vitamin D3 since it's from a non ocean derived animal product

I can only tolerate gluten free certified GMP supplements like Bluebonnet. Thank you Bluebonnet for this product, where the D3 is produced from lanolin.
