Gleatin for your bones, joints, connective tissue and skin

You need gelatin in your diet. Living in USA, its almost a thing of the past. We don't consume anything but the white meat or the non-fatty, non-gristly of anything. I grew up thinking fat and gristle were repulsive, I cut my meat to death before and after cooking it. Now I realize I was cutting off everything my body needed...And I wonder why my joints hurt, I have disc degeneration and my skin has no elasticity. We have "picky eaten" our way into serious deficiencies and lack of overall health. If you don't make bone broth at home, this is a good alternative. Its hard to consume alone in water, it has a strong odor, so strong that I can't even tell you what it tastes like because the smell puts me off so much. But if you put it in food, soups and stews, make your own jello with natural fruit juice, there is virtually no taste to it. This same brand has a green labeled gelatin, I am told that it is designed to dissolve in liquids and that the smell/taste is milder and undetectable in beverages. A lot of people put it in shakes, I will probably order that one in the future since that was my initial purpose for it. The smell prevents me from doing so with this one.

TOO HARD ON THE STOMACH

I have taken selenium yeast supplements just fine. I read that this was supposed to be the best form and most bio-available. I GET INSTANTLY SICK WHEN I TAKE IT. I tried three times and it ruined 3 days of my life. ---I love Iherb.com so much but I am really bummed that there is no return option for situations like this. I even emailed about it but I only got a canned response, a bit disappointing.

Great Product

I have tried, with my family, several brands of Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM. This brand and product in capsule form in particular has proven by three people in my immediate family to get excellent results. It sounds insane but after just a few days it seems that there is a difference. Placebo effect or not, we'll take it!

The supplement so good the FDA wanted to take it away

Its true, look it up! They found out that it was a natural Statin and were afraid of it cutting into their over-priced pharmaceutical sales. I would rather stick to nature myself. You need to be careful with it, because yes, it is truly a natural drug. Honestly, if you read up on new studies about Cholesterol, it can be just as bad to have it be too low as too high. So use caution, use your brain. This is the real deal, don't pop it like candy.

Looking for the Perfect Iron Supplement

Posted on Apr 02, 2014

Recently diagnosed Anemic, I was prescribed a forty dollar Iron Supplement by my doctor. It was supposed to be easy on my stomach and not cause constipation, the two things we all fear about Iron. It was great but it was just a few weeks supply and my blood tests came back still Anemic. So I set out to find something more affordable. This one sounded like the one after reading all the reviews. It's a very good product, however I have an unbelievably sensitive system. It did cause some nausea but I don't think it made me any more constipated than I already am. Its hard to tell when you already have that problem! Vitamin C helps in absorption of Iron when you take them together, and that definitely helps with constipation too, also some quality Magnesium Citrate/Glycinate. The best Iron I have tried is still the one prescribed, its called Biffera. You can get it without a prescription for half the price at a pharmacy! Watch out for that, probably any time you are "prescribed" a vitamin, you can probably get it cheaper out of pocket. Remember too that just because you are still testing Anemic on an Iron supplement, it doesn't mean its not working. If you have lost a lot of blood, it can take up to a year to build up your Iron stores in your body again. Nobody, certainly not your doctor, will tell you that.

The usual you can expect from NOW Foods. They have great supplements and I hope to benefit greatly from the D-3 along with some warm weather and sunshine. I have a deficiency and I will update in a few months after I get tested again.

Vitamins for your Skin

Posted on Apr 02, 2014

Look up Rose Hip Seed Oil and you will find miracle stories of skin rejuvenation and disappearing scars. Nature's alternative to "Insert Expensive Retinol Cream here"! My skin is a battlefield of scars and sores. So far I have noticed in just a few weeks, a slight reduction in fine lines, reduced healing times for wounds and just maybe...a little difference in scars. It seems to me that with any Retinol type product/product that "resurfaces" your skin, there is a period of time where it actually might look worse before it gets better. I'm only about a month in so expect an update!

If you love Lavender

Posted on Apr 02, 2014

The smell is amazing. Its potent! A few small drops can make an entire container of anything smell like a European field of lavender. I can pretend I am somewhere in France or Italy ;-)

JUST TRY IT!

Posted on Jun 28, 2013

People are always so incredulous at the mention of neti pots but they really do work for so many people!! Its not easy at first but once you get the hang of it you can really get some great relief from nasal issues caused by allergies and sinus infections. Don't knock it until you've tried it. --I like that this one is not plastic.

Best Yet

This is the best tasting stevia I have found to date. Others are too bitter for coffee. I can handle drinking this in my coffee. It takes a little getting used to but I am impressed with it.

Our Family's Favorite Soap

Posted on Jun 28, 2013

We use this soap for cleaning, laundry and bathing. It doesn't smell amazing, it smells like tea-tree oil. It smells clean but it does not linger on your skin. It is the ULTIMATE in antibacterial soap. Forget the rest, this stuff really is the best. It lasts a long time too!

PLEASE BRING THIS PRODUCT BACK!

Posted on Jul 28, 2013

I do not think it is a mistake that for the first time EVER I tested in the borderline HYPER-range after nearly ten years of being Hypo. They have actually reduced my prescription medication after only six weeks of taking this. I haven't had another test yet but I believe this is the thing that is really helping. I have noticed that I actually get hot sometimes, I am usually ALWAYS freezing, even in the summer. I'm not saying all my symptoms are gone but its pretty impressive.
