Great prenatal supplement
These were not hard on my tummy and I did not feel as tired as I did with my other pregnancies (despite having five other children). It was hugely reassuring to know I was getting my baby's need for folic acid, DHA and other essential nutrients to his/her development.
Kids LOVE it!
I give one of these chews to each of my kids (ages 5, 3, and 20 months) every morning and they line up like hungry birds when it comes time to hand these out. They are soft and chewy, filled with antioxidants and great for my one daughter who used to be prone to bladder infections and my other daughter who only has one kidney. Even I take one every now again as a little treat.
Watch for Panic Attacks
While I am a huge fan of NOW foods products (particularly their vegan capsule line), I must give you a heads up on consuming either too much B6 or having an imbalanced consumption... I am normally a pretty optimistic person so I was greatly surprised when I was suddenly experiencing panic attacks at night. I could not figure out why until my father asked me if I was on a B6 supplement. I was stunned at the realization that the panic attacks coincided with when I started the supplement. I stopped taking it to see if anything changed and sure enough, within a couple of days, the panic attacks stopped! I have had none since (and this was a year ago already). I would suggest a balanced B-complex unless a health care practitioner/naturopath has specifically suggested taking this as a separate supplement.
Spared my 4 year old from long term antibiotic use
My daughter has suffered from chronic bladder infections since she was year old. Her fevers would reach 106 degrees Fahrenheit and we made frequent visits to Children's Emergency. Our family is NOT a big fan of antibiotics but with the risk of damaging her kidneys, we just couldn't mess around. My daughter was referred to a Urologist and she was prescribed a low-dose antibiotic for one year... YIKES! We researched like crazy and decided to try D-Mannose as a last resort prior to long-term antibiotic use. The theory being that because it is not a sugar easily absorbed by the body (hence safe for pregnant women & diabetics), once it reaches the bladder, e-coli (responsible for 80-90% of bladder infections) let go of the bladder wall and can't help clinging to the sugar molecules... in essence allowing the patient to pee out their own pathogens! One tsp in the morning daily kept her bladder-infection-free for longer periods of time and when she did get one, we increased it to 1 tsp 3 times daily plus a dose of colloidal silver, which cleared things up within 24-48 hrs. She has now been bladder infection-free for over a year and never did need the antibiotics. Her Urologist has since closed her file!
expensive vitamins kids REFUSE to take

For nutrient content, this would get five stars but what good is the nutrient content if kids REFUSE to take it? I have four young children (ages seven and under) and they love vegetables and other wholesome foods but they cannot tolerate the taste of these vitamins. It feels short of a punishment to them when I hand them one and they are coughing, sputtering and asking if they can just eat vegetables instead! Kudos, Garden of Life, for the intention but this was an expensive bottle of vitamins I had to throw out due to taste.
Awesome for pregnant/nursing moms!
I have taken this supplement diligently with my last four pregnancies and while I may be biased where my kids are concerned, I have to say they are brilliant! We teach our babies sign language and by seven months, they've all been able to sign "milk" and "diaper" (very handy!) and their ability to eye gaze is very well established within days after birth! Now, there's no way to know if they would have developed the same way had I NOT taken the supplement, but DHA is brain food! 80% of your brain is made up of FAT and these essential fatty acids are called "essential" for a reason! And unless you eat fresh water fish, flax or hemp on a regular basis, you are not getting it from your diet. Your essential fatty acid, Omega-3, transforms over three stages with DHA being the last and optimal stage. My kids are now 5, 3, 2 and eight weeks. Their attention span is phenomenal with my five year-old reading basic words, my three year old speaking in full sentences at eighteen months, my 20 month-old counting to ten, etc... I believe whole-heartedly that anyone who wishes to avoid ADHD issues should feed their baby's brain throughout its most critical stages of development!

We have tried a few brands including Wilderness Family Naturals and this one seems to have a smoother, creamier texture. We cannot have dairy in our home so we use coconut oil for everything! We especially love frying eggs in it. For hypoallergenic baking, this product plays a key role in binding my desserts. Try mixing it with Sunbutter, crushed organic corn flakes, Enjoy Life semi-sweet chocolate chips & some shredded coconut and press into an 8X8 pan. After chilling for an hour, you have a delicious gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free tasty treat! Enjoy!
My hair stopped falling out!
After six pregnancies, I assumed the fact I could pull handfuls of hair off my head with each shower was a testament to the stresses of motherhood! But since using Avalon Biotin B Complex shampoo and conditioner, my hair no longer falls out and I am no longer fearing an impending comb-over! My hair truly has thickened over these last few months, my natural wave has returned and I feel like my hair has stopped paying the price for our "abundant" lives. I just wish they sold it in a Family size bottle!
My three kids (ages 5 and under) LOVE it!
What a great way to get some additional vitamin C in the kids' diet! It tastes great and even my twenty month old points to the vitamin cupboard in the morning asking for more.
Best natural toothpaste to-date
Posted by ritavaags on May 22, 2014
We've tried all sorts of "natural" toothpastes and brushing teeth in this house was soon becoming a dreaded event! Some were potent with baking soda flavouring while others were overly infused with tea tree oil and left awful aftertastes in the mouth. Finally, we found the Now Foods XyliWhite toothpaste and are so relieved to find a product that actually works without ruining morning and bedtime routines! This is a non-offensive product that does the job... teeth feel clean, mouth feels fresh, and no one feels like they just chewed on a pine tree!
My baby LOVED these!
They dissolve so easily and taste fantastic (hey... a mom's gotta make sure they pass the flavour test). :)
Huge hit in our home!
I already reviewed the smaller bag for these but suffice it to say, these are handed out to kids when leaving after a play-date and even the parents ask if they can have one, too! Great way to get some fruit and veggies into the kids complaint-free.
