The majority of aloe vera juice has preservatives (look for potassium sorbate in the ingredients) in them to increase shelf life, so I was pleased to find this one that did not. Just look at the ingredient list - nothing but plain organic aloe vera juice, the way nature intended. The taste is fine, not particularly strong. Note that refrigeration after opening is recommended. I was so used to leaving out my other aloe vera juice brands (so I would remember to add it to my water) that when I left this one out for several warm days, it did go bad. It's the one drawback to not having any preservatives, but I'll gladly make room in my fridge to reduce my ingestion of these artificial ingredients!
Delicious and not too sweet

So far I've found all Andean Dream cookies to be well balanced in terms of sweetness and flavors. The textures are just like a cookie should be, not too hard/dry and not cakey like a lot of gluten free cookies are. Plus the quinoa gives a tiny shot of protein not normally found in cookies. They are great! This cookie is great for those looking for a decent chocolate cookie. I personally have never liked orange and chocolate paired together, but the orange is not a strong flavor in this cookie at all, and works towards making it a tasty one.
Finding a great gluten free cookie is rare
I've tried various gluten free cookies, and more often than not, I tend to end up disappointed. The texture is often too cake-like, too grainy, or just plain weird. But these cookies are great! They are lighter and more airy than most cookies in general, and are quite crisp to the bite (and therefore more breakable, I think), but once you get munching, the texture is wonderfully even, and the flavor is spot on. There are just the right amount of chocolate chips, making this just as good as any wheat-based chocolate chip cookie. And if you compare the price of other gluten-free products (which tend to gouge you, especially Glutino!) this one is a great deal. The only thing I would change is the sweetness - a little less sugar would've been ideal. Great for sweet-toothed individuals, but not for those who prefer a little less.
Crumbly but tasty

These are one of the better gluten free cookies out there. They are tender to the bite, just like shortbread is supposed to be. It reminded me a little of the chinese almond cookies I've eaten in the past, only without the trans fats. It has little pieces of almonds in there as well. Because they are so tender, they tend to arrive in pieces when delivered. I think UPS must have drop-kicked my package before giving it to me. I happily ate the crumbs with a spoon though. Very tasty!

Unlike most gluten free cookies that tend to be like small, dense cakes, these are tender and wonderfully cookie-like. They aren't hard and crunchy, and are not soft or doughy either. They actually break rather easily and many of them were broken when I opened the box. I didn't mind though, because the flavor is so good I happily dumped the crumbs into my mouth. These cookies are made with organic almond flour, so there's a bit of nutrition from the almonds rather than the empty calories of refined white flour. You don't really feel like your eating ground up nuts though. The cookies are very easy to eat and the flavor is tasty! I actually like these over most normal chocolate chip cookies! The sweetness seems just right to me, not cloying or overpowering. I find Pamela's gluten free cookies to be way too sweet, but Amy's seem to strike the right balance. I think I will try the regular shortbread cookies next.
Effective skin protection

I suffer from severe eczema on my feet and have tried numerous products. NOTHING stops the crazy itching, not even this cream, but so far this has proven to be the most effective at keeping the skin moisturized. The only thing that helps me at least manage the itch is Claratin (or in my case, store brand Loratadine). All the other eczema remedies I've tried, my skin would be dry again in 10 minutes. This one lasts much, much longer, and definitely soothes the discomfort. It helps the itch a tiny bit, so that's something too. I've started to notice that flareups would occur when I eat cake or some other sugar-laden food, so I am going to try cutting that out for a week and see if that helps. Eczema is a result of an inflamed body, so sugar and wheat could be causing my inflammation. In the meantime, I will continue to use this cream to help manage the problem. I love that it's mostly natural.
I eat it out of the jar

This stuff is so tasty, I just eat it out of the jar with a spoon for dessert. It's so much healthier than any sugary dessert, and it's filling too. It smells like toasted almonds and tastes fresh.
Crunchy without being hard
This cereal is reminiscent of Grape Nuts, but not as hard to chew. These little nuggets are crunchy but not so dense and therefore crushes more easily in your teeth. The flavor is pleasant, a bit nutty, and not sweetened. It's fine to eat by itself, but I often like to mix it with granola for a little more flavor variety.
Wholesome and organic

I love the simple, organic ingredients, and that is a huge plus. For this particular product, the peanut butter is very apparent, almost masking the chocolate. I think a little less salt would have been nice and maybe then I could taste the chocolate better. It's still not a bad product, and I don't regret trying it.
WAY too many raisins
Posted by zoeblessing on Jan 31, 2012
There are so many raisins in this cereal, it's all I can taste! And because they get so hard in cold milk, I end up sitting here chewing like a cow. I paid 8.50 for cereal, not a bag of raisins. I do like the coconut, but I don't detect the vanilla that's supposed to be in there. They should call it coconut raisin crunch.
If you like Kit Kat, you'll love these

Seriously, I am amazed they managed to make potato flour act like wheat. These wafers are delightfully crispy, and the flavor is chocolaty good. Kit Kat used to be my favorite candy bar, until I discovered my wheat allergy. I think these wafer cookies are even better! Not as candy-bar-sweet as Kit Kat.
Finally, gum I can feel good about
Posted by zoeblessing on May 24, 2010
So many gum products out there contain artificial sweeteners, food coloring, chemicals, additives... and of the ones that don't, there's usually something annoying about them, like the flavor disappears too quickly or it gets hard after awhile. Spry gum doesn't do any of that! It's so nice to find something I can chew AND enjoy all day without worrying about it poisoning me. The flavor is long lasting, and it never gets hard. This is great gum!
