Disappointed

I was hoping a food extracted folate contained in this product would not cause me the same paradoxical folate deficiency that folic acid and folinic acid do. Unfortunately it does so I can't use this otherwise very fine product. I am hoping to find more selection of b-complex products without folic or folinic acid in any form and if possible with Metafolin.

This Country Life Dibencozide (adenosylb12) is like Sherlock Holme's Smarter Brother, not often heard from. It is the other naturally active form of b12 which functions in the mitochondria by being at the base of the Kreb's cycle producing ATP. While most people can convert some methylb12 to adenosylb12 it isn't usually enough to recover from a deficiency, the main symptoms being fatigue or severe fatigue and muscle pains of several kinds, muscle atrophy and so forth. There are not many brands of this so we are lucky that this one is excellent, low acid and absorbed well by oral membranes.

The Best of the Best

The Solgar Metafolin tablets are so superior in my experience to any amount of folic acid or folinic acid that it was obvious the very first day. Lifelong angular cheilitis at the corner of my lips which is a mass of scar tissue now started healing immediately, the skin around my nails and finger and toe tips stopped peeling and was healthy pink skin and I started dreaming normally again for the first time in decades. Despite both methtylb12 and adenosylb12 and lot of other things helping, this kicked my tissue healing into high gear.

NAC not always advantagous - a warning for those with b12 deficiency symptoms

First let me say that I have no complaint with the quality or potency of the product. It certainly appears to offer excellent quality and potency. When taken with l-glutamine as precursors to glutathione it certainly appears to produce that very well, and that is the problem. The problem is perhaps in part genetic for people like me or may not be. Glutathione combines with the various forms of cobalamin in the body forming an intermediate form, glutathionylcobalamin that is then theoretically transported to where it is needed and converted to the active forms of adenosylcobalamin for the mitochondria and energy production and methylcobalamin for DNA duplication, conversion of homocysteine to methionine, nervous sytem repair and opperations and various other uses within the body. My known problems of genetic origin are that I can't convert cyanocobalamin and hydroxycoblalmin to either adenosylcobalamin or methylcobalamin, the ONLY two active forms. By the results, the return of b12 deficiency symptoms over a 6 week trial period, I appear to be unable to convert glutathionylcobalamin to the active forms, at least not in sufficient quantity to maintain function or healing. In addition, the visible excretion in urine of cobalamins increased by a huge amount. I am hypersensitive to both the presence and absence of adenosylb12 and methylb12. I felt the difference the first day and then things got worse day by day with increased pain, uncontrollable muscle spasms, increasing depression and irritibility, increased paresthesias and numbness in my hands and feet and a burnt/scalded feeling on my tongue, a hallmark symptom of b12 deficiency. These were just a small sampling of the 175 b12 deficiency symptoms I used to have but they were enough to make it very clear where things were headed. I take very high dose methylb12, 7.5mg sc injections twice a day and at least 15mg of adenosylb12 sublinguals daily. In 6 years I have healed from a total basket case of severe FMS/CFS/ME, immune problems, sensory problems, neurological problems too numerous to mention and much more to quite normal and healthy. I have 75% of my feeling back in my feet and position sense and my sense of balance is returned. No more dropfoot. This 6 week trial reversed at least the progress in neurological problems such as numbness in my feet made over the last 6 months. I already take very large amounts of both active b12s and NAC & l-glutamine largely wiped out those effects and gave no noticable benefits. While increased excretion of some toxins could be very beneficial increased destruction and excretion of active coblamains was very detrimental. Another person who is also using high dose active cobalamins to stimulate neurological healing who was in a wheelchair 2 years ago and is back at an active physical job now who does not appear to have either my hypersensitivity or genetic problems generally also had similar results. It may also be that the body's ability to convert glutathionylcobalamin to active forms is limited to 10 or 20 mcgs a day whereas many mgs a day of active b12s are required to stimulate neurological healing and penetrate the mitochondria in the brain and may not be a factor of genetic limitations of conversion. Everybody may have those limitations of maximum reconversion to active forms. I haven't used NAC & l-glutamine in about a month now and am slowly recovering from the effects.

Clearly one of the most effective methylcobalamins

I and my 3 children are hypersensitive to methylcobalamin. Jarrow is generally sensed within 10 minutes of using sublingually and is very effective. In 10 brands that we tested of sublingual methylb12 Jarrow was one of only two brands that rated 5 stars. I have had pronounced healing since starting this brand.

L-carnitine fumerate quite different results fron aceytal l-carnitine

This form of carnitine affects my metabolism. I lost 50 pounds in 5 months with it. On the aceytal l-carnitine, I gained 30 pounds in 6 weeks (significant part is water for unknown reasons). The fumarate also gives me endless energy while the other doesn't affect that. The other forms are supposed to affect other tissue and may not produce a quickly noticable effect.

It's WOW all over again

My first 48 hours with TMG have been real eye-openers. This is doing more of what methylb12 and SAM-E in the sense of a literal visual brightening, mood brightening, and a certain kind of energy increase, both did previously. On a very preliminary survey of the usual 5, it's a very positive response so far of 3 of 3 who have tried it. While the magitude of increase is below that of my initial methylb12 doses, it is larger than that of the SAM-e. This is the first brand I've tried so I have no idea if there are brand differences as with some products.

This b-complex which includes methylcobalamin is noticably active and does not make b-burps because of the microencapsulizatin.

My 3 adult children and I are all hypersensitive to daily fluctuations of methylcobalamin levels. We systematically tested a number of brands. We found the Biochem Superior brand to have an better than typical level of activity, more active than most and less active than 2 others.

My 3 adult children and I are all hypersensitive to daily fluctuations of methylcobalamin levels. We systematically tested a number of brands. We found the natural factors to have an adequate level of activity, more active than some and considerably less active than others.
