Replenishing

Been a fan of Ron Teeguarden & Dragon Herbs since the beginning when he had one store. This stuff is expensive, but it works. Not for an everyday tonic, but very useful if you feel especially drained. Personal, Professional, Relationship & Living Situation issues had compounded to leave me feeling rather low in my vital energy department, and this formula made a quick and noticeable improvement. Chinese herbs are not miracle cures, and they don't affect you like steroids or stimulants. But, this was very noticeable to me even on top of my usual rotation of high quality supplements. Note: 1) I am very sensitive to these things from decades of healthy living and a lifelong martial arts practice. 2) This formula contains Deer Placenta & Tortoise Shell, so it is not suitable for Vegans or anyone who might find this disgusting. Of course, no animal is killed in the making of this product, which can not be said of even leather shoes.

Study after study shows that Resveratrol can add years to your life. This particular product is a great deal: 1) High dosage 2) Large supply 3) Cheap price The bulk of the Resveratrol here is from Polygonum cuspidatum Extract (Root), with only a little bit of Red Wine extract in each capsule, but have no fear. The root has more trans-resveratrol than wine and it is quite assimilable. All in all an excellent deal. Healthy Origins scores again in the bang for your buck category.

Was worried about the Chinese source (like others here), but the awesome price got me to give both the barley grass and the wheat grass products a whirl. Both are very effective, and make great additions to any shakes, smoothies, formulas or even food you might want to add some green love to. You will need to increase your water consumption a bit, though as these can be somewhat dehydrating. Also, I still have my reservations about the sourcing of this powder, and without some chemical analysis by a lab... there is no way for me to know if this product is adultrated the way many cheap Chinese products seem to be these days. (Obviously just because a few companies sold children's toys with lead paint & the Chinese government can not be relied upon to regulate the health safety of products made there... doesn't mean that ALL products from there are suspect. This one is certified "organic" and could be fine, but I have no idea what that certification entails in China.)

Decent product, good price

At this price you can't complain. The quality might not be as high as some other reds that Imperial Elixir sells, but the roots are still much more effective than the stuff you will get in powders, capsules or pills. Truthfully, the real root seems to be more effective even than most extracts IMO. I've found that to be true for decades. If you are training, do martial arts, or use your body a lot, chewing on some ginseng root will give some noticeable results. For those less in touch with their bodies, it may or may not provide a boost as it mainly helps with stamina and recover. Ginseng is not a substitute for coffee or stimulants, so don't expect that kind of rush. If that is what you are looking for, get guarana.

Decent quality, could give a bit more weight

For those who haven't tried white ginseng, you should really give it a shot. I've always found it to be more mentally active than the red (which tends to be more physical). In Chinese writings, the white ginseng is attributed with more spiritual power. Like many tonics, the effects are somewhat cumulative, but these whole root products give far more "immediate" effects than capsules or extracts. The roots come extremely dry, and are quite hard... so be prepared to grate or grind them. I've used nutmeg graters, old-fashioned metal coffee grinders, mills, and even a good pair of pliers. You can just gnaw on the roots directly, but watch your teeth and be patient if you decide to go that route. All in all, a much better deal than capsules or tablets. You can probably do better if you have a Chinatown in your city or know of a good herb market, but this product is pretty good.

Nice creamy soap

Very smooth and pleasant soap that leaves the skin soft and nourished rather than dry. Like many bar soaps, though, the lovely scent begins to disappear after a while... but at least this one doesn't begin to smell distasteful at that point. In truth, the smell isn't very strong to begin with, and that wasn't really the selling point for me. The soap does seem to have a lot of shea butter in it, though. It cleans rather well for something so creamy. It even does a good job on hair. I generally prefer the concentrated liquid soaps (i.e. Dr. Bronner's & Dr. Woods) but as far as bar soaps go, this is rather nice.

Very cool stuff. D is an essential proto-hormone (not really a vitamin as the body makes it on its own). If you can't get enough sun on your bod, due to winter weather, indoor lifestyle or whatever, do yourself a favor and supplement your D. There are 10s of thousands of processes in the body that utilize D. I like the drops even better than the gel-caps, but these drops do come out VERY slowly. If I am feeling impatient I will just take my clinical strength Healthy Origins gels, but it is nice to not have to eat the gelatin. Also, at the time I purchased the drops were actually cheaper by weight of active ingredient... so that is something to think about. It also takes up a lot less room. If you're travelling, it makes more sense to bring a small bottle of liquid than a rather large bottle of individual gel-caps.

Extremely happy

Chia is amazing stuff, and having a nice supply of it at this price is a joy. Usually I soak a bunch of it 10 to 1 in water and then use the gel in smoothies, in food, for baking etc. But the raw seeds are also nice (in place of sesame seeds or whatever). While I still prefer hempseed, chia has its really strong points... especially in baking moist healthy breads and whatnot. All in all a great deal.

Noticeable Effect

Slight immediate effect on vision that got progressively more pronounced with regular use. I never take anything every day... even if it seems to be working wonders for me, I will still take regular breaks or substitute a complimentary supplement for a week. Also, I am very sensitive to changes in my body and perception.

Lasting energy for the muscles

Very pronounced effect. Only take this if you will be working out or working hard. If you have a day of moving furniture and boxes scheduled... go ahead and pop one. But when I took one and then blew off exercising it was almost uncomfortable. Provides long lasting energy, but you must really use it. Even half a pill is noticeable.

Does the trick

Quite happy with this, though it is an acquired taste and doesn't mix all that easily. To be honest, I haven't found any powders with this much goodies in it that mixes much better. The chocolate taste is actually nice, but it is not a dessert powder by any stretch. It has an earthy, greeny taste that is better with a creamy liquid like rice milk or soy milk than it is with plain water. I like it added to smoothies, lattes, hot chocolate or whatnot. The main selling point here is the very noticeable alkalinizing effect it has. The protein and herbs are nice, as is the probiotic stuff, but I would say the real thing here is being able to add a lot of green to your diet almost painlessly. I would probably even give this 4.5 stars if iHerb allowed that. It doesn't quite deserve 5 though because I have had better products in this price range. (Note: I have no problem taking large doses of this stuff, but some people seem to have some digestion issues if they take too much to start with.)
