Savouring Life with Less Sugar Naturally

New to iHerb? Use coupon code KEP382 for up to $10.00 off your first order.

I'm a mom, wife, "food detective" and blogger learning to live with Less Sugar Naturally. A little research about processed foods and learning tricks with real foods (like dates, stevia, spices, whole foods and a touch of sugar) was all it took to convince me to embrace a less processed life...not to mention a little humor and balance. My health improved immediately and I've never looked back. Convincing my family was a challenge, but the right products made a big difference. I really do love iherb. It allows me to save money on my stevia products, spices and low-toxicity beauty products at a savings of 25-50% off local prices. I hope you don't mind my very detailed honest reviews. I do a lot of research and testing for my blog and like to include my findings here. If you are new to iherb, feel free to use my coupon code listed above to save money off your first order! I live in Canada and receive my orders between 1-2 weeks. So far, I haven’t had to pay any additional duties.

Simply Organic makes Simply the Best!

Posted on Jun 12, 2013

Purchased at iHerb

For the greater part of my life I bought imitation vanilla from the grocery store....a time in my life I will sadly never get back. I remember the first time I tried organic madagascar vanilla.....It was love at first smell. This organic vanilla lingers and flows from your nose to your tastebuds. There’s 3 main types of vanilla.   Tahitian vanilla .... best paired with fruit, Mexican....with spices like ginger and cloves and Madagascar which goes best with cream and chocolate. Simply Organic also sells Ugandan vanilla which is slightly sweeter than Madagascar and has hints of chocolate. I like the Madagascar the best. I love Simply Organics as they don't sell any products that have been irradiated. Their products are dated so that I know how fresh they are ... and they give 1% of their profits to support organic farming causes. I live in Canada and have received all of my iherb orders within 2 weeks. The best Vanilla Stevia!

Posted on Jun 12, 2013

Purchased at iHerb

I actually compared this product with SweetLeaf's Vanilla creme. To be honest, I've never been a fan of flavoured stevia products. I prefer to use natural flavours. I also tried some of the "soda" flavoured stevia by SweetLeaf. The whole family thought they tasted awful and like artificial sweeteners. That said, I was shocked when I found myself loving the taste of this Nunaturals Alcohol-Free Vanilla stevia. 20 drops in 500ml of carbonated water makes a delicious vanilla-cream soda with no funny taste! NuNaturals uses Singing Dog Vanilla. You can even smell the difference between the SweetLeaf and NuNaturals vanilla stevia brands. NuNaturals Vanilla is the clear winner here! Great lip balm!

Posted on Sep 14, 2013

Purchased at iHerb

I recently decided to switch out all my beauty products to non-toxic products. I purchased 4 different lip balms to replace my "toxic" medicated peppermint lip balm ..... "Sierra Bees Organic Mint Burst" and the "Vanilla Beeswax", "Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Organic" and "Burt's Bees Beeswax". All use beeswax as a base. The main difference is in the oils each uses. The Sierra Bees uses olive. Dr. Bronners uses jojoba/avocado, whereas Burt's uses coconut/sunflower oil. I really like that Sierra Bees is organic and has a short ingredient list. It's also the cheapest. I like the vanilla, but prefer the "mint". I live in Canada and have received all of my iherb orders within 2 weeks. Wonderful non-toxic nail polish

Posted on Jun 12, 2013

Purchased at iHerb

I chose this product because it rates really well....a "2" for toxicity with the EWG. I've always been really sensitive to the toxic smell of conventional nail polish, almost getting an instant headache from them. I thought my nail polish days were over. SMELL.....First of all, this nail polish did have a smell. It reminded me of water-based latex paint. The smell quickly dissipated though and it didn't send me running for fresh air like most conventional nail polish. INGREDIENTS....Keeki's nail polish DO NOT use any Toluene, Formaldehyde nor Acetone. That makes me very happy to use them! DURABILITY....I used 2 coats of nail polish and 1 layer of the Keeki top coat. I didn't use the base coat. A week later....no chips...my nails are still flawless and beautiful! I am really impressed! COLOR....Most of the Keeki colors are bright and youthful. I'm pretty conservative and like simple shades that go with classic looks. I love this shade as well as the "Hot cocoa" shade. They go with everything. My teen daughter attempted to steal both. I live in Canada and have received all of my iherb orders within 2 weeks. Great conditioner with some reservations

Posted on Jun 12, 2013

Purchased at iHerb

I recently decided to switch out all my beauty products to non or low-toxic products. I purchased this conditioner because it scores a "2" with the EWG and doesn't contain any ingredients I don't want. The first time I used Aubrey's conditioners, I found it really thick, "claylike" and hard to dispense. Now, to avoid waste, I simply add a capful of conditioner to a squeeze bottle (ketchup/mustard bottle bought at a restaurant supply store), along with a cup of warm water and give it a good shake. I pour half on my head, comb it through and then pour on the remaining half. I rinse the bottle out and it's ready for the next use. This conditioner left my normally very dry fine frizzy hair silky smooth. To be honest, I wasn't crazy about the rosemary smell of this conditioner. I much prefer Aubrey Island Naturals Conditioner. However, the peppermint does leave the head feeling really refreshed and the smell is gone when the hair is dry. I just felt that it left my hair a little drier than my other organic conditioners. This conditioner was $4 cheaper here on iherb than buying it locally in Canada. I figure each bottle has about 20 uses. I live in Canada and have received all of my iherb orders within 2 weeks. Good product but prefer another.

I purchased this product because it scores a "2" for toxicity with the EWG. Because of the natural oils, you have to use these "natural" leave in conditioners sparingly...just a pea size amount in the palms and finger comb through focusing on the ends. This product helps make my hair curlier and bouncy and tames the frizzies. To be honest, I prefer Bronner's hair creme, but I like to alternate products on my hair so I use both. I live in Canada and have received all of my iherb orders within 2 weeks. I'd rather have the real thing...

I'm a bit stumped. The texture is strange and the taste is slightly bitter. That said, it's a very unique product in that it is simply dried raspberries with no added sugar or chemicals. I think it's worth a try but personally I'd rather eat fresh raspberries.
