i brought these to a friend's house so he could try them; he's a big fan of hemp products but had never eaten the seeds. he got super-excited and had his wife, brother, sister-in-law, and several kids try them...everyone loved them, especially one 8-year-old nephew who is reputed to be a picky eater. i had to hide the bag so i'd have a little left to bring home! delicious on salad & toast, in oatmeal & smoothies. they remind me of sesame seeds...if you could just eat the "inside" of them. they're buttery and very soft, and seem like they would be easier to digest than other seeds. i toasted some in a dry pan and added an equal amount of chia seeds and a little sea salt for a home-made gomasio; sometimes i put a couple of tablespoons into a condiment cup and eat it very slowly (with my fingertip rather than a spoon) when i'm craving a salty snack. oh my goodness, my cat just ate some of my hempseeds! well, this crazy cat eats watermelon and drinks pineapple juice & lemonade, so i'm not saying your cat would like them...

INSTANT relief from acid reflux

I started suffering from acid reflux a few months ago and have tried many natural remedies. None lasted for more than a few hours, or they took at least 1/2 an hour to kick in, or if I skipped them for a day it would take at least a day for them to start working again. I was coughing constantly, and all day my esophagus would burn as if I'd just thrown up, and sometimes I'd wake up in the middle of the night with a mouthful of bile. I've been using bentonite for the last few days and it's been a miracle cure. Literally works instantly, quicker than baking soda, and without the burps!!! The first dose helped for over 12 hours; since the 2nd & 3rd doses I've been pain-free for 18-30 hours. What I do is mix a few teaspoons of bentonite in 4-6 oz of water (in an 8oz jar). SOAK OVERNIGHT...this way you won't choke or get constipated. Then I take 2 teaspoons of the resulting "gel", once a day--usually between meals. I take my medication & vitamins with meals, and I've read that bentonite can absorb these, so it may be best to take it 1-2 hours after/before other nutrients/meds.

ow!!! i was so excited to get this brush, after reading about how great dry-brushing is for "cleansing" & your lymph sytem...but...ow!!! this left scratches & welts all over me, even with the lightest touch. i read DOZENS of reviews and articles before & after ordering it; nowhere did i find anyone else complaining about its being too rough, nor any suggestions to soften it. in exasperation i soaked it in water; this softened it a bit. i am also tempted to blunt the tips of the bristles by scraping them slantwise on a cement sidewalk. you seriously could scrub a floor with this thing. after a few more soakings it has become usable but still leaves white scratches on my skin...and it HAS taken some bumps & roughness off my elbows that no amount of lotions/creams/oils or butters have been able to. it's very tingly and sometimes i actually look forward to that a little. can't do it before bed; it wakes me up too much!

this is recommended for energy & endurance; i haven't noticed a huge difference yet but i've only been taking it for a week. however, i discovered something so neat i want to share it--chia is a great vehicle for supplements that don't dissolve well!!! i put 1-2 teaspoons in 1/4-1/3 cup of water, juice or coconut milk, let it sit 15 minutes, and then mix in supplements such as psyllium, dolomite, azomite, or creatine; they get "suspended" in the mucilage and don't sink to the bottom. i used to have to stir, gulp, add more liquid, stir again and then not only would i still get that grit in my mouth (or in the glass), i'd feel like my gut was gonna bust from all the water! it's a little slimy, like egg whites, but i'm getting used to it. it's also great in baking; if you soak the seeds first, the consistency helps bind the ingredients, adds moisture and fluffiness, and looks like poppy seeds! i also mixed some chia with toasted sesame seeds and sea salt for a nice seasoning for rice, salad etc--or just as a little snack!

this has a licorice flavor, which i find a little off-putting and means i can't mix it with the citrus drinks i dearly love. however, i have read that this is an excellent product, as it has beneficial herbs & nutritional value rather than just being a gut-sweeper like psyllium. if you search it a little, you can find some recommendations that aren't on the container--to take it in milk, or even to simmer before taking it (i imagine this makes the herbs more potent, such as when making a tea). so far it seems very effective but also gentle, and hasn't caused cramping.
