16 mg active trans-resveratrol? No thanks.

People, look at the ingredients list. 16 mg of the pluralized "resveratrols," which indicates that this is a mixture of trans and cis-resveratrol. And 16 mg is an incredibly tiny dose for this price. If you want resveratrol for a decent price, go with some other brand that doesn't jazz up its capsultes with a bunch of extra [ingredients] like grape seed extract. You'll need around 300 mg of trans-resveratrol per day to get the SIRTUIN 1 gene expression benefits. This waste of money doesn't cut it.

Inferior product

This contains gum, true. It contains xylitol, true. They resemble chicklets. But if you bite into the hard shell and look at the composition inside, you'll notice that these two components are not chemically bonded. The product consists of an extremely rough mixture of very large, unrefined xylitol crystals and gum. As soon as any kind of moisture is added, the xylitol washes away instantly. Of dubious quality.

Unnecessary

After purchasing this product and doing more research, I discovered that there really is no reason to take n-a-c in a sustained form, and that a sustained release is perfectly achievable by administration with food.

Unexpected benefits

After purchasing this and taking it for its well-documented nepho-protective effects, I noticed my exercise endurance and recovery increasing significantly. I performed some research to explain this and discovered that it does, indeed, improve endurance and exercise capacity. I also discovered that chemical cysteine is frequently manufactured from human hair in China -- raising questions about cannibalism. Overall, an excellent addition to my regimen.

Excellent for chronic illnesses

I take this for wasting issues in connection with a chronic disease. One cup in the morning and one cup in the evening has increased my strength and endurance throughout the day.

Avoid 50% extracts and "other polyphenol" combinations.

Resveratrol is currently extracted from the japanese knotweed. It's cheap to sell a 50% resveratrol extract; the other 50% is chemicals from the knotweed. This includes some "polyphenols" which is a nice way to refer to them on a blurb, but also "emodin," a strong laxative. Put your money into purer extract products that contain 98-100% trans-resveratrol, and don't buy this "other polyphenols" or "other extracts" stuff on the bottle - It's just a nice way of saying they are selling you low grade stuff with lots of non-resveratrol ingredients!
