I only use it when I needed. I work a very early schedule and I hang out with friends on weekends. Normally by 9:30 I'm falling asleep. If I take one of these I can stay wide awake and aware for a few more hours... And even if I end up going to sleep right after taking it, I can fall asleep without a problem (not like caffeine!)

If I'm in a bad mood from anxiety, I take one before I take a nap and wake up feeling great! I only take it when I needed, it does work :)

This was great, I felt happy and in a great mood from only a couple of days being on it. I love it! I only give it 3 stars because after being on 5-HTP for about four weeks I started feeling this strong tingling all over my body, feelings like you get when you hit your funny bone, too. I was taking 100mg per day, then I decided to give it up and the tingling (slowly) went away. I found out that I was getting a Serotonin overload so be careful, do not take the 100mg to start specially if you are weaning off medication for depression (I was on Prozac) 5-HTP can be toxic at high doses! I will try taking the 50mg once a day. Hopefully that will help. I will write my review there too.

The capsules are a bit too big but because of the plastic like lining they are not too hard to swallow if you drink a full glass of water. Great price for it.

I started with 100mg per day but it was too much, I was getting tingling thru my body. Then I bought this 50mg and took it every other day for about three weeks. I will now start taking it every day (Monday thru Friday and take one week off a month - as directed) It works great!!

My mom buys this brand because a few years back she started noticing hair loss. She went to the dermatologist who prescribed a special shampoo with no positive results. After a while she realized it was her hair dye, the "brand" stuff you buy at your local pharmacy was making her hair fall out. As soon as she switched to Herbatint her hair grew back. She hasn't looked back since.

This works. I used it at night after I brushed my teeth and went to bed (left a pill in front of my teeth), same in the morning on my way to work. It tastes good (vanilla) and it does what it claims.
