My OB diagnosed me with PCOS in May 2010. Not knowing what that was, I read a bit about it, went back to the OB/GYN and was told that I had two options - get back on birth control pills or be referred to Reproductive Endocrinology if I wanted to conceive. That was it. I was so saddened. My OB/GYN did a panel of tests - of which a few came back irregular: my thyroid and my testosterone. For my thyroid, I went to my general practitioner, who diagnosed me with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I am currently taking a thyroid pill every morning to bring those levels down. For my testosterone, instead of taking Metformin, I decided to take the natural approach. I read 'Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition' by Marilyn Shannon, began to heed her advice about diet modification, and I began to look into supplements. I started looking for supplements online and at our local whole foods stores, found the best deals here at iHerb.com, and these are the ones I've decided to stick with: Vitex, Lifetime prenatal, and an Omega 3 supplement. 1. Nature's Way Vitex Fruit 400 mg 100 capsules 2. LifeTime Professional Prenatal Formula 180 Tablets 3. Natural Factors RxOmega 3 Factors EPA400mg DHA200mg 240 Softgels I currently take 3 Vitex a day, 3 prenatals, and 2 omega 3s. I will be dropping my Vitex to 2 a day soon, and after 3 months of taking it, I will only need to take 1 a day. For the prenatals, I take 3 a day (half-dosage.... don't need the full dosage since I'm not pregnant). RESULTS: After a 75 day cycle, I ovulated and had my period. WAHOO! And I just ovulated again and therefore am expecting my period after a 30 day cycle. This is nothing short of a miracle! If you are looking for something to help with balancing your hormones, I would highly recommend Vitex! Just don't get discouraged if you don't see changes after a month. It really does take 2-3 months to see a difference. God is good, and I'm so thankful for this natural approach to better health.

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few months ago (based upon annovulation, irregular cycles and high testosterone levels), as well as Hashimoto's thyroiditis (hypothyroidism). Rather than immediately running to the Reproductive Endocrinologist to get put on Clomid, I wanted to see if the natural approach would work first in balancing my hormones and getting healthy. I talked with a friend who read 'Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition' by Marilyn Shannon and started on these prenatals at half-dosage (3x a day), along with the recommended sleep/diet changes, omega 3s, and Vitex... and her cycles were regular in 3 months. The next month she conceived. I decided that it was worth a 'go'. I ordered these prenatals and have been on them for almost a month. At this point I think it's too early to tell a difference, but I'm not giving up yet. I also want to see if getting my thyroid levels under control will help balance my other hormones. I am only giving a 4 star rating because the jury is still out on these prenatals and their effect on my body. For iherb.com, though I am thoroughly impressed with their service, and I would definitely order through them again!

Too soon to tell???

I ordered these softgels simply because there were so many positive reviews on them, as well as the price. Since I ordered them for the first time (a few weeks ago) I've been taking 2 a day, one with breakfast and one with dinner. They're usually easy to swallow, but I have noticed a few fishy burps afterward - nothing unbearable, but definitely noticeable. I can't say that I've noticed any significant change in my health since taking them, but I'm trying to be more proactive about my health, and I hear omega3s are non-negotiables. (26 y.o. female).

Jury is still out...

After reading all of the reviews, I thought I must surely give this product a chance. I've never seen such raving reviews! My take on it: the taste and smell are strong, but not totally unbearable. I was willing to give it go, if the benefits were as great as everyone was saying. I started with 1/4 tsp in my oatmeal every morning (along with milled flax seed and some fresh fruit) and I've gradually upped it to 1 heaping teaspoon. I can honestly say I haven't noticed a huge difference, but I'm not getting critical yet. I would like to see a balance in my hormones, since my cycle is not regular (PCOS and hashimoto's thyroiditis- hypothyroidism). So I guess that's what I'm looking to see - will this have any affect on the regularity of my cycle? Still not sure. In the meantime, I will at least finish the bag. It's too expensive not to finish.
