Not very effective.

This doesn't help me to sleep whether I take it 30mins, one hour or one and a half hours before my sleep. The closer to my bedtime I take it, the more likely I will taste a bitterness in the back of my throat after I lie down on the bed for a while. I really wanted it to work.

Multi-purpose oil

I love this almond oil. I recommended it to people and they like it too. I suggested it to a friend who had acne and had tried several products, such as pimple creams and moisturisers, but her skin didn't improve. I told her to stop experimenting with products (which was the cause of her breakouts in the first place) and to use something natural. She used it as a moisturiser for her face (as a last resort) and it healed her blemished skin. I didn't expect the oil to have that healing effect, but it did, for her. I also introduced it to my two sisters. It is so natural that you can eat it. It must taste good because our dog loves to lick the oil off my sisters' arms and legs after they had applied the oil on their bodies. Their skin is softer too. I use it as a moisturiser and makeup remover. I don't need to pay so much for a makeup remover, a cleansing lotion or a cleansing oil when this works just as well, contains no chemicals and is way cheaper. It works particularly well for removing eye makeup easily. Must try!

It's okay...

The first time I used it with my tomato pasta sauce, I realised the spaghetti was starchy and soft, more like noodles. The texture was weird and my sauce became starchy as well. I haven't used it since. Next time, I will boil it in more water and for a shorter period of time, or use it in noodle soup if that fails.

Bitter and dry

Posted on Oct 20, 2011

Today is the first day of my menstrual period and I am having some cramps. Decided to try a cup of raspberry leaf tea. I was drinking my first cup of tea and the first sip gave me an unpleasant surprise. It was bitter. I didn't expect it to be bitter; I wouldn't have bought it if I knew that beforehand. After a few more sips, I started to realise my mouth was dry even though I was drinking fluids. This tea draws the moisture out of my mouth and my mouth is still parched and has a lingering tinge of bitterness even after 20 mins (I have to eat something sweet now). I'd love to enjoy the benefits of this tea but I can't get past the taste to take it long term. I'd have to finish this box (with dread) and won't order it anymore.
