better than liquid lecithin

Posted on Feb 03, 2009

I've been taking Lecithin with my Resveratrol to enhance absorption. I've been taking liquid lecithin (because I have an aversion to the gelatin that is used to make lecithin softgels) but found it to be messy, thick, and hard to swallow, not to mention not very tasty. These granules are almost sweet, and mix easily with yogurt, etc. I prefer them, although I wish someone would make veggie-softgels.

I recently switched to this from Source Natural's Life Force Multi after reading in the imminst.org forums that many people there take this as a base for their supplement routine because it is low cost and no nonsense.

i love my kitty, so i give her this every day

Besides the quality food I feed her, I also give her quality water, and this wonderful product. I expect her to live very long and she hasn't had any health problems ever. She is full of energy because of this (I think it is because of the Taurine, which cat's can't produce themselves) and there is a noticeable difference if I forget to give it to her. The fact that it needs to be refrigerated is a mild inconvenience, but I love my kitty, so it's worth it!

pricey, but worth it

This water soluble extract of cinnamon is great for controlling blood sugar when you know you are going to be indulging in some carbs every once in a while, or even to take regularly, because blood sugar spikes happen, even when eating relatively well. The price is a little high, but I still swear by it.

This made me feel ill to my stomach, I wouldn't recommend. Also it didn't give me any noticeable burst of energy. Maybe it works well for some, but not me.

i've switched to this instead of NACI

I used to take NAC to help with the toxic effects of alcohol, but I've read some scary sounding things about NAC recently (even Durk and Sandy say they prefer L-Cysteine to NAC). So until it's cleared up, I'll be taking regular L-Cysteine instead. I've been taking these for a while now and they seem fine. I take them with 1g of Vitamin C, providing what I believe to be the optimal ratio of C to L-Cysteine.

good, but, don't take more than 200mcg!

I really shouldn't have ordered this. 200 mcg is the upper limit of safety for this nutrient, and my multi already has 200 and this has another 200, so I don't need it and shouldn't take it. Oh well. Not that taking larger amounts of Selenium (over 200mcg) for extended periods can lead to Selenosis, which can cause your hair to fall out and your nails to crumble. Be safe! Do your research first!

Quality product

I use this to enhance my resveratrol supplement, as the Quercetin is supposed to make resveratrol metabolites last longer in the bloodstream. As a bonus, it also has bromelain, which enhances digestion if taken about a half-hour before a meal, which works out perfectly because I take my Resveratrol on an empty stomach about a half hour before breakfast. I also like the fact that it is gelatin-free (V-caps).

I like this because it is one of the few quality CoQ10 products that isn't in a gelatin capsule.

It is Lecithin, but it's messy

This product is indeed a cheap high potency Lecithin (a tablespoon of this is much more potent than a tablespoon of granules or a couple softgels), but it is so thick that it is difficult to pour, and it is nearly impossible to swallow without mixing it with something else (e.g. yogurt). It's okay, and I will finish off the remainder, but I don't think I will reorder this. The only reason I think that you might want to get this is if you had some other application other than oral ingestion (e.g. a topical application).
