Simply Amazing

Bovine colostrum is one of the best supplements I have ever used. I had chronic bronchitis for three years until I began taking this (as well as Dr. Ohhira's Five Year Probiotics), plus I was taking reishi mushroom and astragalus at the time, but I attribute the major change to the colostrum and Dr. Ohhira's. Three years of coughing till I thought I was going to die and lots of colds and it all stopped when I started this. I now know that my immune system was severely depleted due to stress and this helped tremendously. I no longer get colds. It also made my skin incredibly soft and velvety. I really love this stuff and I think everyone should be on it.

Seems to work!

For years I've been taking Organika plant enzymes (Organika is an awesome company here in British Columbia), but Iherb doesn't stock Organika, and these Source Naturals enzymes have the exact same ingredients and amounts, so I thought I'd try them. They seem to work just as well, I take them with every meal unless I'm having just raw fruits or veggies.

Tastes fine in a smoothie

I just tried this out and I didn't notice this in my smoothie at all, so I think it's going to work very well to boost my protein intake. There are some great reviews on other sites as to it giving people energy. It seems like a very benign flavour and texture. I will update my review if I notice any health benefits.

Updated Review

Update to review below: I am lowering my rating to two stars because my mother mentioned that my hair has been looking greasy lately. I thought that this and the bar with argan oil were doing a good job, although I still had days that my hair felt like straw even with the apple cider vinegar rinse, but I thought at least I was doing something good for it. My mother commented that since I've been using this, my hair has looked greasy. I'm now going to look for something else. I found a way that I can use this shampoo bar without turning my hair to oily straw. Instead of spraying the apple cider vinegar rinse on, I poured about 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar into a medium sized bowl, filled the rest with water, and dipped my hair into it, and poured the remaining rinse over my roots. I did not wash it out. Now my hair is soft and shiny. Original review: My hair looks and feels terrible after using this several times. I'm still going to try it for a while, because maybe it takes time to get used to. But my hair feels like straw on the bottom, and oily in places at the roots. I miss my Giovanni shampoo and conditioner so much, but I'm trying to completely avoid estrogenic ingredients like phenoxyethanol and certain essential oils (see Dr. Peter Eckhart if you're confused). J.R. Liggett's customer service is a bit weird, too. I phoned them to ask if their shampoo bar for damaged hair contains certain essential oils. They returned my call while I was out, so I emailed, explaining the situation. Instead of at least replying that the bar does or does not contain the essential oils I'm trying to avoid, they reacted as if I'm trying to steal their recipe. Paranoid much? I'm going to try their argan oil bar to see if that's an improvement on this one, but this whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I just want to find a shampoo bar that works for me. I have long, fine, colour treated hair (brunette), btw, the kind that tangles hopelessly every time I set foot outside. Not sure if that's why this soap doesn't work so well or not. I also have been following it with an apple cider vinegar rinse.

The taste of this really is unbearable. I felt sick to my stomach after taking it, and I've been headachy for days since, and I NEVER get headaches. There is something wrong here. I have taken Concentrace liquid minerals before and have never felt sick or had headaches afterwards. DO NOT BUY!!!

Pretty Decent Taste

Posted on Jul 30, 2013

Purchased at iHerb

I just received this today and I was expecting it to taste horrible. I have taken a lot of truly awful tasting supplements and this isn't even what I would call bad, and I put it in water, not juice. I will continue to take it in water. One thing I'm not crazy about right off the bat is that the wheatgrass and barley grass do not come from juice. However, I bought some barley grass juice powder separately, as that was what I really was interested in. The other downer is that I read on another site that alfalfa powder can raise estrogen levels, and for those of us who don't want to do that, maybe they ought to rethink the alfalfa. What I would really like to know is how this compares to Green Vibrance. I read a spectacular review of Green Vibrance from a girl who suffered from ADD and how it changed her life, and so I'm thinking of ordering that for my son who has ADD. Maybe Orac-Energy will do the same for him, however?

Dog's Tumor/Growth Gone

Posted on Sep 28, 2013

Purchased at iHerb

Please bear in mind that I've also been giving her essiac tea and ground apricot kernels. However, for about a month I had stopped the apricot kernels because I was in the process of moving and wasn't able to grind them. Over a year ago, a groomer noticed a nasty looking black spot on my dog's torso under her left front leg. Her pink skin had turned black and there was a bit of a scab around the outer edges. I thought maybe she had been bitten by a flea and had her treated for fleas. Over time, a black growth appeared in the middle of this black area. It looked and felt like a nipple (sorry if that's TMI but that's what it was like). I started with the apricot kernels a few months ago, then I added bovine cartilage, opening one capsule onto her food three times per day. (I cook my dog's food or give her raw - everything organic - and yes, I feed her three times per day.) I then found out about essiac tea and began to brew it and pour a little onto her food once per day. About a month ago, she began to smell horribly. I thought it was because she was old. Then the smell stopped. I only associated it with the growth because the next time I checked it, the growth was completely gone and there was an open wound in its place. I sprayed the area with ionic silver water several times a day until it completely healed. Now there is a slightly raised but flat area where the open wound was that feels like scar tissue, and the black skin around the spot seems to be lessening. I'm not sure if I should keep her on the bovine cartilage for her arthritis or if I should stop now that the growth is gone because bovine cartilage is supposed to stop new arteries from forming, which is good for tumors but not good for other areas. However, I will reduce her dose to two capsules per day for now. I'll update my review in the future.

My Review is Based on Taste Only So Far

Posted on Jan 14, 2014

Purchased at iHerb

I haven't had this long enough to say if it helps in detoxing or in feeling better, but I like the taste. It is quite mild, and I normally detest herbal teas. I couldn't wait for this to arrive (it takes several weeks to get to Canada), so bought Yogi Tea Lemon and Ginger Detox from a local store, and while I like the taste of that one better, this one has more ingredients in it, so I think this one will probably be more helpful medicinally.

It's supposed to be fine for gluten intolerant people

Posted on Feb 13, 2014

Purchased at iHerb

I just opened my first jar of this and noticed it said that it contained gluten and was made from wheat berries. I was dismayed, because I've taken other brands of L-glutamine and I know they were gluten free. So I just did a search and found the following information, hopefully it will reassure some others who are afraid to take this: Is GlutImmune safe for those with a gluten or wheat allergy? GlutImmune is enzymatically derived from red wheat berries, and the resulting hydrolysis activity reduces the gluten molecule to a point where it seems to eliminate any intolerance for wheat sensitive individuals. It doesn't taste that bad, either. Not as bland as regular L-glutamine, but still, it's not terrible. Glutamine is one of those things that definitely does not need to be encapsulated, especially when most companies add flow agents in order to do so. I am going to try it because it gets such great reviews and will update my review after a few weeks.

Microscopic!

Get your magnifying glass out if you're ordering this product - it's a teeny, tiny bottle. (Somehow I thought I was ordering a 1 ounce bottle). It seems to be good stuff though, but it probably won't last long. The larger size for $22 is definitely a better deal.

Tastes awful, but great ingredients!

I bought this because I learned that a lot of vitamin C comes from corn, which is not ideal. I love the idea that this comes from organic fruit. I've been taking the capsules for a while, and so this brand seems great. I take too many capsules though, so powders are a great option.

I love this stuff

I use cacao powder in smoothies and I love it because I can eat chocolate without feeling guilty. I put a little frozen banana, some water (or I make almond milk first), and a raw egg in with some raw cacao and it's very good.
