Why fructose and xylitol?

Posted on Apr 02, 2010

Not keen on the fructose (I want low-carb stuff and fructose seems to encourage fat deposits) and the xylitol can cause gastric distress in many people. Why not just use stevia full stop? I would be happier with this product if its only sweetener was stevia (one can always add fruit or other sweetener if they like/have to). Personally, I do well with less sweet products.

OK as a moisturiser, not for internal use (for me)

Posted on Dec 03, 2013

Been using as a moisturiser and it's ok (if you can stand the smell). However, taking it internally, it did nothing for me. It did not stop heartburn, in fact it probably made it worse, due to the citric acid. I am now suffering badly with fire-like burning in my stomach... been lasting for days now. I would like a version without citric acid!!! I think that would have more potential. Generally like this brand and the fact they use minimal additives.

Tablets too huge for me and can we remove some rubbish from them please?

I cannot seem to swallow these whole. I have to chew them, which I think defeats the purpose (no wonder I am running to the bathroom as soon as I get up in the morning). Also, what are all these eccipients? I expected more from Doctor's Best! (though to be fair all the magnesium tablets seem bad in that respect)

Potassium benzoate?

Posted on Oct 25, 2008

3 people found the following review helpful

Personally, I am not keen on products containing potassium benzoate and I would like to see it removed from all products. From wikipedia: Potassium Benzoate (or E212) was recently described by the Food Commission, who campaign for 'safer, healthier food in the UK', as "mildly irritant to the skin, eyes and mucous membranes".

Who cares about filling the space?

Posted on Jun 23, 2011

3 people found the following review helpful

From the product description: "May contain one or more of the following hypoallergenic ingredients to fill space - Magnesium Citrate, Silicon Dioxide." Use smaller capsules or leave them half empty. I'd rather have no useless/damaging fillers in my supplements!!!!

some questionable ingredients

Other ingredients: Maltodextrin, modified cellulose, caffeine, dicalcium phosphate, stearic acid, dextrin, red 40, silica, polyethylene glycol, dextrose, soy lecithin, titanium dioxide glycerin, blue 2, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sodium citrate. Each table contains 100 mg caffeine. I don't know about you, but I don't want any of those in supplements I take! (especially too much caffeine, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide, colours like red 40 or blue 2) Too much caffeine can deplete your adrenals in the long run, particularly if you are sensitive to caffeine.

Love it... for energy

Posted on Jun 24, 2013

2 people found the following review helpful

Purchased at iHerb

I have been taking this for energy (just two in the morning) and it makes a huge difference for me. It may raise blood pressure, but that's ok for me, as I tend to have low blood pressure. Unhappy that price has gone up. Vitacost currently sells this for $4.99. Why are iherb prices less competitive these days?
