not that glossy...

The problem is that when I buy a gloss, I want something that gives me that wet lip look. Sorry, this just gives a little bit of shine. The colour is like a pale strawberry stain, very natural, and that's fine for me. Maybe natural/safe/non-toxic lip glosses just can't cut it? I'll continue the hunt, because I'm not going back to the chemical-laden ones for the sake of wet lips.

So disappointing!

I wonder if most of those who gave this 5 stars had ever taken any other eye supplement before? I'd been taking a lutein supplement for a couple of years before. I was quite happy with my old brand, but since Doctor's Best FLoraGlo Lutein was cheaper and had such good reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I finished one and a half bottles of the FloraGlo Lutein, so you can't say I didn't give it a chance! By the third week, I felt my eyes were incredibly tired and strained, and my distance vision got worse. I continued taking it because I hated to waste something that had been ordered all the way from the US and cost so much in shipping. I even on some days took twice the dosage in the desperate hope of some difference, but by the time I was in the middle of my second bottle, I'd had it. I junked the FloraGlo Lutein, went back to my old brand, and would you believe it? A fortnight later, my vision has improved.

Exactly what I need

I live in a very sunny climate and get all my vitamin D that way. I wasn't keen on taking a Calcium supplement that had vitamin D added. I'd also read up and found out that the most easily absorbed Calcium is Calcium Citrate. Thus, this powder suits me just fine. I take it with juice and add some Now Magnesium powder, and the chalkiness doesn't bother me.

I pulled out the nylon bristles

Posted on Mar 03, 2014

This is my first BBB and I'm proud of it. It really does redistribute the oils. I had oily scalp but dry ends, and it is much better now (plus I add a dime size of Rosemary oil to the bristles after washing). However, I have fine, thin hair and thus don't need the nylon bristles, so when the nylon began to hurt my sensitive scalp, I used pliers to pull them out. Aah, much better. [My one regret is that as I pulled out the nylon, some precious boar bristles came out as well.] UPDATE: I've now been using my brush for 2-3 months, and I like it so much that I decided to try another brand selling on Amazon which was the same size but cheaper. My idea was to use the cheaper brush when my hair is dirtier and so have to wash my Ambassador brush less. The comparison made the Ambassador look so wonderful, I've upgraded my rating from 4 to 5 stars! The wood of the other brush was a dark, cheaply varnished wood that showed up the beauty and fineness of the oak wood on the Ambassador. To be honest, I'd not appreciated it before. The bristles on the other brush were so soft they were useless even on my fine, thin hair. The Ambassador bristles are so much stronger and get the job done. And to those who complain about the smell of the bristles - get real! This is organic material from an animal, of course it's going to smell! If it didn't, you should worry that you got a fake.

Good!

Been making chia gel - just 2 tbsp mixed in a cup of water - and adding it to baked goods, milkshakes, and puddings. It's great stuff! Love the slight crunch in puddings and drinks, and how it adds moisture to my gluten-free cakes. It's my first bag of chia, so I can't comment yet if this brand is better than another I've bought. Will update when the time comes.

Love the smell. Thick texture like hand cream.

I enjoyed using every bit of this because I loved the fruity smell. I almost wanted to cut open the tube when it finished. It's not a high-end passion fruit smell... it was a little bit cheap, but hey, look at the price! I like the fact that the smell lasted for a while, because my household members said they could smell it for a few hours after, and they all gave the scent the thumbs up. I even love the adorable penguin logo. It was a good moisturizer and absorbed OK, but it was so thick I did have to spend some time massaging it into my skin after the shower, and because I put a lot so as not to tug my skin, I was quite oily for a while after. I've decided I prefer lotion to body butter because it glides onto the skin better, and I've concluded that this Deep Steep product is not the greatest moisturizer, but I will buy it again when I miss the smell of passion fruit, and I might just buy it as hand cream.

Great smell, moisturizes well

I think if you like gardenia (which I do) you would like this scent. Plus this bottle is really value for money. The lotion is rich and creamy and massages into the skin well. I used a lotion from a MLM for years before, and it was good, I think even better than this, but this one saves me money for sure. I've used all sorts of body lotions, from the pricer brands like Clarins and Jurlique to the drugstore ones like Nivea, Neutrogena, Eucerin, and Vaseline, and this one ranks among the nicest and the best of the budget lotions. My problem area has always been my shins and they do get a little dry 12 hours after applying this lotion, but I would definitely buy it again. Adding a little argan or jojoba to the lotion before massaging the shins next time should do the trick.

Great for the price

Well, of course I got it as a freebie, but I love the whole line of Sierra Bees Lip Balms for being so natural that I would definitely buy it once it's finished. Before this I was using Mukti's $22 organic lip balm made of macadamia nuts and honey (Australian brand I think). It was wonderful, but so pricey! Sierra Bees is not as moisturizing, but for the price I won't complain! The smell of the pomegranate and vanilla lip balms are both yummy. I'll comment further when I've tried all the other flavors.

I'm not crazy about the smell, but it does what it should. I don't know how to describe the scent - a bit fruity, a bit of a heavy floral scent like night flowers, but It's not overpowering. The cream is a little more runny than other creams I use, and does leave a greasy feel, but the price is right. What I really like is the handy small size as I always want a tube of cream in my bag when I go out. Not a favourite, but I wouldn't mind buying it again.

Be warned - has been found to be tainted with Lead, Cadmium and other heavy metals

Posted on Feb 05, 2014

Purchased at iHerb

Just read in Natural News online that three different labs have verified that this Raw Protein has heavy concentrations of heavy metals in it. Very upset because I ordered the Vanilla flavor one from iHerbs last year and consumed it within 4 months - and am now wondering if my current gynaelogical problems are connected to it in any way. Have not heard it the Raw Meal is tainted as well, but I would be even more upset if it was as I feed that to my son. Waiting to see if Natural News'll publish any more findings. UPDATE: Within 24 hours, Natural News has removed their previous publication of the lab findings, and reports that GOL and SunWarrior have committed to visiting the farms from which they source brown rice and testing the water for heavy metals, and they have committed to achieving specific low limits on heavy metal content in their products. They do not contest the findings in the Natural News report, but GOL states that "Raw Protein remains and always has been safe... these results, taken at face value, report levels that are entirely safe." Go to their website or the Natural News website to read the whole thing. Because of GOL's decent and conscientious response to this problem, I'm upgrading my review from one star to two. However, any amount of heavy metals, even if deemed "safe", seems too much for me. Best to avoid the product till GOL can address and rectify the problem at the source.
