Keeping the gut in good health to aid optimal nutrition

There's no point eating well for two if it goes straight through us. These pearls are easy to take and highly potent. I always felt better when I was taking them, and felt that I digested my foot much better. Other symptoms such as food allergies healed, too. I would take these everyday during and after my pregnancy, and especially if I had been drinking chlorinated water or taking antibiotics.

When my B vitamins are low, I can feel nervous for no reason, and neural pain. I take this B vitamin to alleviate this. It is potent, and well digested. Take moderately during pregnancy, checking in with your body. I might have taken it twice a week, or when I felt symptoms.

A bath in this (or maybe just the time alone) was bliss. Either way, it was sublimely healing!

Move with your food

After taking these, I never felt as if my stomach were sluggish again. The digestion can slow down a great deal during pregnancy, and constipation was the bane of my first pregnancy. In my second pregnancy, I had none, with a combination of healed zinc levels, probiotic pearls, and digestive enzymes. My gut healed, too, and my allergies faded.

Answering the protein demands of pregnancy and lactation the easy way

Posted on Nov 30, 2012

Purchased at iHerb

As we build our baby's bodies, and produce their milk, our bodies go under extreme protein demands. It sometimes felt like I would have needed to eat a cow, or a bath load of soaked lentils, to try and keep up. I added this to my green smoothies, or mixed it with milk. I found that it, and the HealthForce Nutritionals, Vitamineral Earth V.3.0, 500 g product blend well together. They don't taste great, but they are quick and simple. It also doesn't slow down the digestion which is already sluggish due to the elevated hormones, and can even be tolerated during times of morning sickness. And when we're on the go, with kids and babies needing us, sometimes a quick protein or nutritional boost is a great way to keep the stamina up.

Give your body what it needs

I took sulfur on and off during my pregnancy. I found it helped with the food allergy symptoms I was having. However, sulfur is a macronutrient vital for the health of our cells and the growth of our body - I take that also to be vital for the growth of the fetal body. Ask your body what it needs, and take what feels right for you.

Fortify yourself and your baby

A whole range of illnesses are linked to low vitamin D levels, even cancer, either because of our sedentary, indoors lifestyle, or because of its being blocked by high levels of copper and other heavy metals in our bodies. Take vitamin D during pregnancy so that it is available to your baby during lactation. If this potency feels too strong, there are less potent vitamin D supplements in the Thorne range.

A pleasant tea for socialising

Posted on Nov 30, 2012

Purchased at iHerb

To make a real pregnancy brew, I take a table spoon of nettles, raspberry leaf, and peppermint leaves, to which I would add, depending on how I felt, fennel, chamomile, and red clover flowers. I would add these to a pot of boiled water, off the heat, and leave over night and sometimes the next day if I were busy. Then, I would strain and refrigerate, and drink this over the next couple days. These tea bags however were great if I didn't have time, or to keep in my purse for social occasions.

A food based pregnancy multivitamin

Posted on Nov 30, 2012

Purchased at iHerb

This prenatal multivitamin was very pleasant to take. My only comment would be that it doesn't contain Choline, which comes from eggs, and which is essential for babies to have whilst in utero. Otherwise, because it was food based, I felt it was well absorbed.

Boost your energy levels and feel youthful again

Posted on Nov 30, 2012

Purchased at iHerb

I wouldn't advise everybody to take this during pregnancy - it requires a degree of intuition and connection to your body developed over time to find out what you need. In middle pregnancy, I did take a scoop of this two or three times a week, wheneer I felt like my energy levels were low. During lactation, I did the say. As always, follow your own inner guide - it does work, but if it feels wrong for you, don't do it.

Enjoy the sensuality of pregnancy

Posted on Nov 30, 2012

Purchased at iHerb

I used this oil regularly during pregnancy on my hips, buttocks and thighs. In terms of effectiveness, using almond oil, a vitamin E oil, or an apricot kernel oil may be just as effective and good. The point is to keep the skin supple and hydrated. However, in terms of sheer sensuality, for sensation and smell, this produce is certainly the most pleasurable.

Excellent for perinium massage

Posted on Nov 30, 2012

Purchased at iHerb

At all times during pregnancy, it's fabulous to nurture and nourish our vulva and perineum with sensitive touch and massage. My partner didn't mind using it a bit too! This oil was very gentle and soothing with a slick, lubricated feel to it. Every day after my bath or shower, I would make sure to use it, to replenish the oils, to keep the skin that would need to stretch supple and mobile. The vitamin E helped nourish the skin, too.
