ingredients on label not as on website

Posted on Jul 15, 2009

I ordered this item from iHerb and the ingredients shown on label are different than that on website. My label says that the softegel contains carrageenan which is used to produce colon tumors and Russell Blaylock, MD says to avoid more than MSG! See Wikkipidiea or google or MD's books for more info.

iHerb no longer ships same day

Posted on Jul 07, 2010

Purchased at iHerb

Last year I spent $5,409.95 with iHerb and $2,970.83 so far this year and I hate to say it but the last month their shipping has not been up to par. They take refrigerated products out and package them and let them sit not giving them to the shipper until next day. I live chat twice a day with them and get reassured by Marlaina and Karen that the orders placed the previous day will go out that day, but they don't. When I ask them about what do they want a customer to do, they reply just refuse the package; so I do which then seems to tick off the shipping department so they don't ship out any of my packages on time. I don't know if anybody else is having this problem. So I realized I can only order non-refrigerated products from iHerb but that didn't work either so I guess I am going to have to start spending my $500/monthly supplement budget on local retailers or other online retailers that give more reliable shipping performance.

Includes a toxic ingredient according to wikipedia

ADBAC is highly toxic to fish (LC50 = 280 μg ai/L), very highly toxic to aquatic invertebrates (LC50 = 5.9 μg ai/L), moderately toxic to birds (LD50 = 136 mg/kg-bw), and slightly toxic to mammals (LD50 = 430 mg/kg-bw).[5] Benzalkonium chloride solutions of 10% or more are toxic to humans, causing irritation to the skin and mucosa, and death if taken internally.[6] Benzalkonium chloride is an allergen[7][8][9][10][11][12][13] and several studies have cast doubt on its reputation for safety.[14][15] Some products have been reformulated in light of this research, but it is still widely used in eyewashes, nose sprays, hand and face washes, mouthwashes, spermicidal creams, and in various other cleaners, sanitizers, and disinfectants. Manufacturers of over-the-counter artificial tears and eye washes became concerned about chemical sensitivity from long-term daily use and have in some products substituted EDTA as a preservative. Some have packaged eye drops in single-use vials with no preservative[16] for sensitive eyes. There has also been concern that long-term use of benzalkonium as a preservative in nose sprays may cause swelling of mucosa and lead to rhinitis medicamentosa. Contact lens solutions typically contain 0.002% to 0.01% benzalkonium chloride.[17] K. C. Swan[18] found that repeated use of benzalkonium chloride at concentrations of 1:5000 (0.02%) or stronger can denature corneal protein and cause irreversible damage to the eye. Swan also found that 0.04% to 0.05% solutions of benzalkonium chloride can cause punctures of the corneal epithelium. The disadvantages of using benzalkonium chloride solutions with contact lens are also discussed in the literature.[19] [20] A disinfectant containing benzalkonium chloride and the related compound didecyldimethylammonium chloride (DDAC) has been identified as the most probable cause of birth defects and fertility problems in caged mice.[21] A 2009 study has found that benzalkonium chloride, when used in less than lethal concentrations, resulted in an increased resistance to the disinfectant solution, and a 256-fold increase in resistance of the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa to the ciprofloxacin antibiotic, even though the bacterial colonies had not been previously exposed to the antibiotic.[22]

Posted on Jun 28, 2012

Silica is a trace mineral that strengthens the body's connective tissues - muscles, tendons, hair, ligaments, nails, cartilage, and bone - and is vital for healthy skin. Silica deficiency can result in reduced skin elasticity and can hamper the body's ability to heal wounds. Food sources of silica include MILLET, leeks, green beans, garbanzo beans, strawberries, cucumber, mango, celery, asparagus and rhubarb. In its natural form, silica is found in the horsetail herb.
