I'm not sure how protective it is of color as I think that's hard to gauge but my hair feels and smells clean (though the fragrance of the shampoo isn't anything to write home about, not unpleasant, just nothing special) It has a good lather when you rinse then repeat, if you like lather, which I do. It does not lather on the first round, I've found this to be usual for shampoos that are low on chemicals (this scores a 1 on Skin Deep Cosmetic Database) some will barely lather even if you rinse and repeat several times. I know the lathering is not necessary to get your hair clean and it's something that is added to shampoos to give people that getting clean feeling but I still have not been able to wean myself from that past programming...

Does a good job of cleaning, is rated a 1 on the Skin Deep Cosmetic Database for low hazard regarding chemicals and is very reasonably priced. Use sparingly, it's strong and a little goes a long way.

This is a great sunscreen. I love the fact that it scores a 2 in the Skin Deep Cosmetic Database regarding harmful chemicals, but even more I love the way it glides on and absorbs smoothly for a sunscreen that doesn't have a bunch of harmful chemicals... It does not leave a white chalkiness behind. I'd love to use this for my whole body and not just my face but it's too expensive for that.

My hair does not look any different than with any other conditioner I've used but I like the feel of this conditioner, light, and it has a very pleasant scent. It's a reasonable price and it scores a 1 on the cosmetic database.
