The hardy sugar beet appears to be one tough tuber, but it's really a soft sweetie on the inside. Strip away the rugged exterior and you'll find that sugar beets have a high sucrose content, up to about 20% of the unprocessed plant root.
NOW Real Food Beet Sugar is the refined extract of sugar beets and is 99.9% sucrose, making it an ideal substitute for cane sugar in most recipes. Persons with intolerance to refined cane sugar will find beet sugar to be a worthy replacement. NOW Real Food Beet Sugar is 100% pure, natural Beet Sugar with no added ingredients.
Because you are what you eat, NOW Real Food has been committed to providing delicious, healthy, natural and organic foods since 1968. We're independent, family owned, and proud of it. Keep it natural. Keep it real.

iHerb Customer Reviews
This beet sugar is made from GMO beets!!!(I just confirmed it with them). Sadly, nobody else manufactures beet sugar :(
Thought this would be a good alternative to cane sugar after reading the reviews. However, I found this sugar caused me to feel breathless and therefore do not believe it's suitable for sulfite sensitivity/MCS - I won't continue to use it. Cane sugar doesn't provoke the same reaction. If this review was helpful to you, please click YES below - thank you.
