Buckwheat (buck-wheat), the 'Nutritional Giant'. Indigenous to Central Asia where it still grows wild, nutritionally excellent buckwheat is not wheat at all. Buckwheat groats, when ground into flour, have a more distinctive flavor than wheat. It is commonly used to make an array of nutritional dishes such as soba noodles, blinis, crepes and pancakes.

Very unique tasting flour
Very unique tasting flour
I bought this flour because I'm on a gluten free (candida) diet and I've read a lot of good things about it. I was surprised by the very strong and unique flavor of this flour and also the unique color of the flour, which is a bluish brown hue with black specs (probably from hulls). I made some bread with it and came to the conclusion that this would be great for making cinnamon/nutmeg pancakes, with xylitol added as a sweetener. I will definitely be making pancakes with these soon.
Made waffle with this!

I like this product! Had a nice result to make waffle. (With maple syrup, yes)
Great addition to a gluten free pantry!

The four is good but the packaging needs to be improved. These bags were wrapped in plastic bags but there was flour leakage. The bags looked banged up.
Interesting flour with a fragrance

My first time using buckwheat flour. The pancakes turned out smelling great! However, since buckwheat is a seed and not a grain, the texture of the pancakes were slightly different from the ones made with white flour.
