Inner Shampoo together with Root Food a vitamin/mineral supplement, comprise Living Hair System-a hair maintenance program created by Life Extension Scientists, Durk Pearson & Sandy Shaw.
Inner Shampoo is the result of research to develop a pure conditioning, non-foaming, nutrient shampoo. It works to penetrate deep into the hair shaft and bind with the cysteine in the hair, strengthening limp hair below the surface.
For regular use: Wet hair thoroughly with warm water. Then, for short hair, apply Inner Shampoo. For longer hair, wet hands first and mix shampoo with ample water to reduce viscosity. Gently stroke diluted Inner Shampoo down the long strands of hair; optionally combing through. Do not try to lather or massage, or hair may tangle. Leave on for one minute and then rinse with comb under running water.
For best results: Use daily. Apply undiluted Inner Shampoo to dry scalp and gently massage. Leave for three minutes, then follow the above instructions "for regular use." Blow dry for maximum body and fullness.
Polysorbate 80, water, sodium isostearoyl lactylate, imidazolidinyl urea, isopropyl paraben, isobutyl paraben, n-butylparaben, phenoxy ethanol.
Very interesting shampoo. Hard to use, as far as workability since it does not lather. Made my hair look and feel very thick after one washing, which was great. A little hard to comb hair when wet after shampooing. Instantly repairs split ends.

TOXIC - contains known human toxicant/allergen banned in Sweden/Japan (for good reason)

If you search the online cosmetics database (ewg dot org), you'll find imidazolidinyl urea has strong, proven evidence of being a known human toxicant or allergen. Seriously - it's products like this that lead to MCS and CFS. This isn't just an alarmist rant, though I appreciate it might seem that way if you haven't personally suffered ill-health as a result of these ingredients. I didn't find out the following until after I bought this - a product I simply cannot and won't recommend. Imidazolidinyl urea is an antimicrobial condensation product of allantoin with formaldehyde. It acts as a formaldehyde releaser (which could explain the smell noted by another reviewer - because straight out of the bottle, this stuff doesn't smell). Formaldehyde is used to manufacture many, many things. So in my opinion the last thing you want to do is wash you/your clothes/anything you own with any product that contains a formaldehyde releaser, because even in small doses formaldehyde can cause respiratory problems, immune dysfunction and eye/skin irritation. MOST importantly - inhalation of formaldehyde changes the sensitivity of the immune system, leading to oxidative stress and inflammation, tiredness, fatigue, asthma (does anyone wonder re the global increase in asthma and why?). Formaldehyde binds to and loosens the skeletal structure of serum albumin. Repeat exposure can lead to formaldehyde allergy (that incidentally never resolves). Formaldehyde is literally everywhere/in every thing - e.g. it's used to manufacture common building/furnishing materials (desks, cabinets made out of medium density fiberboard aka MDF), fabrics ('no iron' shirts, polyester, polycotton, rayon, viscose, leather) - all contain formaldehyde resins that off-gas vapors/absorb through skin (it doesn't wash out). Formaldehyde releasers (FR) are also very common - e.g. preservatives in household products/cosmetics. Another FR is sodium hydroxymethylglycinate - often used as a preservative in some 'eco-friendly' and/or paraben-free products. These ingredients are very common, likewise the presence of formaldehyde. If you develop allergies, dermatitis or breathlessness/asthma and just can't pinpoint the cause - look into the above. Suggest bookmarking that database - ewg dot org. If this review was helpful to you, please click YES below - thank you. I have only used this shampoo one time but I am compelled to write a review of this wonderful product! I have past-the-shoulder, relaxed (lye relaxer), afro type, African American hair that is soft and fine which can get very tangled when washing and the comb out can take a long time in the end losing more hair than I wanted to. I was concerned this shampoo would tangle my hair more but to my surprise it didn't PLUS only 5 strands of hair came out during my wet hair comb out!! My finished hair was soft and looked thicker and healthier and I know it is stronger. :) P.S. I used Wen as my conditioner and leave-in.
Not for me

What I don't like about this is that it doesn't have a nice smell! You can always use a natural and pretty smell like roses or anything herbal to make it worth using... with its not very nice smell, you find yourself having to use something after it, which for me, made its use counterintuitive ... I had short hair, so it was OK to use, people with long hair may not like it... because you have to mix it with water to avoid tangling... On the good side, my hair never felt dry and gritty with this.. it wasn't harsh at all...

I like this shampoo a lot. It doesn't foam but it leaves hair really soft and shiny. A little goes a long way I find. Also, the liquid warms up when you spread it in your hands. I think I will stick to this shampoo. The scent is natural, as in, it's unscented. Perfect for men and women. Very highly recommended.
