We roast these longer, turning the beans almost black, and bringing the natural oils out, for an intense, caramelized taste.Rogers Family Company

Making Great Coffee
Water: Brewed coffee is over 98% water. Use fresh, cold tap or bottled drinking water. Never use distilled or hot tap water. Amount: Use 1 to 2 rounded tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 oz of water. Adjust to taste. Best methods are drip filter, vacuum, French press, and espresso. Drink as soon as possible for freshness. Avoid keeping on a burner - use an insulated carafe instead. Avoid reheating.
Finally: Experiment! Only you know how you like your coffee.
Note: Coffee grounds are great for mulching, or for compost bins!
Organic 100% arabica coffee (flavored coffees also contain natural flavors).
Great Organic Coffee
Good, but not great

I just opened this this morning and was worried that it was going to taste burnt based on the other reviews. I do not like acidic coffee and prefer a darker roast. I personally thought that it did not taste burnt. You might get a hint of a burnt taste when it first hits your tongue and the smell is strong, but I didn't think that it tasted burnt while drinking it. There is no real acidity to it. However, I thought that the flavor was somewhat lacking. Today was my first day drinking it, so my tastes might change over the next few weeks as I get used to it. Not sure that I would order it again. I tried it on drip with a paper filter.
Flavour is ok, but not for everyone.

The coffee is very black, like it has been burned quite a bit. This is fine in its own right, but it's just a bit too much for me. It's not too strong. I love strong coffee! But the burnt taste is just a little too overwhelming for my liking.

The coffee is full flavored and delicious, and it is great to support the production of this organic and free-trade product. We liked the Breakfast Blend, too, and sometimes we blend the B'fast Blend with the French Roast.
