Stevia is a white flowered herb native to Paraguay. Its use by indigenous cultures dates back more than 400 years. Its primary constituents, known as steviosides, are found predominantly in the leaves. Planetary Herbals STEVIA POWDER is made from the leaves of the plant, which are finely milled for maximum convenience.

This stuff is a very finely ground powder of the whole stevia leaf. It tastes as whole stevia should, and the small particle size of the powder makes it disperse quite nicely in liquids and blend in well in solid recipes. I prefer it greatly to Now's powder, which is much coarser. Some folks prefer refined stevia extract, which is neither green nor fibrous, but I'd rather stick to the whole, unrefined food. If whole stevia is what you're after, I think you'll be pleased with Planetary's product.
Good, sweet but doesn't completely dissolve

The sweetness is good but, it doesn't dissolve completely in liquids (hot or cold). I suggest using in baking.
unrefined stevia taste.... unrefined

Yes it doesn't taste like white stevia, but it at least taste natural. If you have a lazy taste, so to speak, then keep looking. There are many complaints among the reviews about this powder, but I wonder if it only comes from people who are looking for that old fantastic coca-cola taste... This stevia might not work in tea or coffee, but it works great in smoothies.
alternate for sugar
