Rainbow Henna Coats each hair's shaft with color. Smooths and seals the hair's cuticle for greater shine. Texturizes hair and gives it body. Blends naturally. Fades gradually. Lasts 4-6 weeks.
Henna is an alternative to chemical hair colorings that are controversial to health considerations. Henna comes from small shrubs, called Lawsonia, that are native to the Middle East, West Asia, and North Africa. The leaves are dried and then pulverized to a fine powder. Rainbow chooses only the finest grade Henna.
Pour 4 oz (1 cup) Rainbow Henna into a glass or plastic bowl. Gradually add 1 cup boiling water. Use a wooden or plastic spoon to mix thoroughly to a creamy consistency. (More liquid can be added if mixture is too thick.) For Rainbow Neutral Henna, mix 2 oz (1/2 cup) with 1 cup boiling water.
Mahogany henna - Lawsonia inermis, indigofereae.
For external use only. Store in a cool, dry place. Filled by weight. Do not use in the area of the eye or if scalp has open cuts. Not for use on bleached or white hair. A strand test should be done if hair is over 10% grey.
Easy to use and love
Easy to use and love
Online you can read all kinds of horrible experiences with henna , they say it's messy, stinky and all sorts of technical difficulties and calamities. My experience with Raibow Henna is completely different. I mixed it with raspberry singer tea and added some EVO nad the smell was ok. I rest the mixture for 30 minutes. The application was not that easy as with other chemical hair dyes but it preoceeded with ease. I left it for 2 hours with a plastic cap and a preheated turbie. The washing was simple by going section by section and then a natural shampoo and conditioner. End up with a lovely auburn hair with an intense red hue when in the sun. Love it so much I guess I've become adicted.

Wonderful, so easy to use
Absolutely Great Results, though Rough to use

I used this on my ~20% gray hair when it was an inch grown out after previously dying it Feria Dark Auburn (L'Oreal). It covered the gray AND blended in with the previous dye job in a spectacularly natural way. I am beyond impressed by the results. It was, however, klunky to work with and initially left my hair feeling like straw. But, that seems to have been a temporary and non-damaging effect, because after a wash and condition (with my favorite everyday Nature's Gate Herbal Shampoo and Conditioner) it feels great and has a lot of shine and is very manageable. It's been weeks now, and the color still looks great and my hair feels good, healthy.

Exellent product for hair
Super dark and left my hair SO dry

I had seen some reviews of this product previous to buying it and I had thought that it would leave my hair medium red-orange-brownish. Well, it has not. It left my dark blonde hair super reddish dark brown, and ugly, and dry. But oh so dry and brittle! I really regret having bought this. The worst part I already knew: it is permanent!!! But I thought I would like the result... Be careful when dying your hair, unlike me!!
